    Pros

The guests. Team members. 20 word minimum. Word word word word. 20 word minimum. 20 word minimum. 20 word minimum.

    Cons

These are the facts You will be lied to. If you need to call out for legitimate illness or if your child is sick your hours will be docked by half at least. You will be expected to do the work of four people in a four hour shift and then written up if you cannot get it all done. This company is horrible cares nothing about the people who do the hard work. The money goes towards the ETSLs who do nothing are condescending and use power phrases that you get basic management training. It was an embarrassment to work for this company. I am ashamed of being a part of target practices. And it is a disgusting, Hostile work environment created from the top trickling down. Don’t work for them

    Advice to Management

It is pointless to fill this section out because Management refuses to listen to team members.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flexible schedule, good pay if you work on the food team..but only in deli or bakery
    HR is great

    Cons

You will never, ever get your minimum hours so don't count on getting your maximum unless you work during the holiday season. I've worked here 11 months and I've never had so many problems trying to get full time hours...even when the position was for a full time cake decorating position. You can pick up cashiering shifts but they aren't always available.
also if you're a women you probably won't move up very quickly unless you know someone who can do favors for you in upper management

    Advice to Management

Give hours, especially to team members that have families and if you need to cut, cut hours to high school and college kids who don't have babies to feed.

I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours are flexible. And a 10 percent discount as long as you use their Red card or cash. Otherwise forget it.

    Cons

The worst experience in my life. You start the day in the freezer and the putting bakery goods on the tables as well as random spots around the store to inspire impulse buying. Then back into the freezer to scan and put away items. During training the manager and other employees pressure you to be faster even the first time you do it. Everything has different shelf dates and multiple locations. Expected to be fast and proficient from day one. And after you set up it is time for a break after coming back you have one hour to fill 300 plus cupcakes box date and place in freezer. Then lunch set up after lunch and expected to fill cake orders in one hour and do back stock that takes up most of the freezer. Then another break clean up 45 minutes and leave all this with manager and other employees criticizing you on an hourly basis. Do this but faster and now. There is also two or three managers to one person and they stand around talking most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Enforce safety laws you have such as slip resistant shoes and more than step ladders to climb up to get backroom stock. Have your managers do more than act like prisoner guards the few employees that can tolerate the sweat shops you run. And one more thing. get rid of the Red Card quotas and as a customer I am sick of being asked. As far as I'm concerned the credit scandal you found yourself in proves that you should stop pressuring both customer and employee to stop petting your crap.

I worked at Target (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Fun team to work with
    Leadership Development
Many locations and easy to transfer

    Cons

To get to executive leadership you need to come through their internships, even if you earn a degree you still have to work you way slowly from the bottom up otherwise.
Young executive leadership leads to missteps, such as not backing employee's decision

    Advice to Management

    Always back up your employees
You have a bunch of good people who would be great leaders buy your process is so long and drawn out that they move on
