I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Going in at twenty I didn’t expect to work at Target for an extended period of time. What followed were the four best years of my professional career. You not only get to work with a wonderful team, but you get the chance to prove yourself. A lot of promotions are done in-house.

    Cons

There is only one true con that I can think of, and that is none other than the terrible red and khaki color combination.

    Advice to Management

Don’t forget to take care of your team.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are good at giving you your breaks, you get a 45 minute lunch, people are very friendly, warm community, sometimes free food in breakroom!

    Cons

Don't get tips because we are a Starbucks in Target, and not a regular Starbucks. Would be nice if they always had more than one person at a time. Wish that they would be willing to hire full-time, but they won't because then they have to give benefits. Doesn't make sense how the LOD makes the same salary, it makes moving up, and doing a harder job basically worthless. There really isn't growth potential.

I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked in electronics and they give you a lot of freedom to take care of the department. Management gives tasks and checks in, and generally lets you go at your own pace. Nice fun environment. We often had free food in the break room.

    Cons

Even though I was paid more to be in electronics they would still schedule a good amount of days on register - which is a much more boring job, and you don't get a say. Not a bad experience, but it is much less fun than working on the floor.

    Advice to Management

My managers were outstanding. I hope they're the same way at other stores.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good underlying values, but low level management could be better.

    Cons

    - Management should not only focus on direct causes that affect customers' experience, but also indirect.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

All of the fellow and past employees and guests have been like a family to me. I have had situations with my own family and now both parents are deceased, my life would have been very empty and sad if not for my Target Family and I thank them on a regular basis.

    Cons

The starting pay and yearly review could be improved along with the employee websites as well as in store app for guests. Too difficult to get into site then frequent password changes on tem member sites

    Advice to Management

Our management is great at the Oxnard Collections. I hope that the present management doesn't pick up and leave us like the last two Managers have.
