I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

competitive pay for the type of work

    Cons

limited hours, mind games from management, hard workers overlooked for any advancement but tasked with a lot to do while those who hide from work are allowed to keep their jobs and others have to make up for their lack of work.

    Advice to Management

treat your workers like their humans and not just numbers. advance the hard workers and not just favorites or family members of managers at other stores.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

10% off all purchases at Target.
Extra percentage off when you buy Simply Balanced products.
Sometimes they have food for you in the break room.

    Cons

Benefits only apply to those who work full time.
You have to have a Red Card in order to use that 10% off employee discount.
Even when working full time if they don't give you enough hours to work you'll be counted as part-time.

    Advice to Management

Quit being so terrible to your part-time employees. They work just as hard and long as full time employees and deserve the same benefits. Also, give your full time employees more hours so that they can work.

Alot of people will call out and they will call you on your day off and ask you to come in and if you say yes the first time they will call you everytime.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay and benefits are above average for Team Leaders and above. Training is very comprehensive if you are fortunate enough to be hired in for a new store opening.

    Cons

Work life balance is non existent. Sporadic scheduling requirements for Team Leaders overseeing understaffed specialty areas (Cafe, Starbucks, Pharmacy, etc.) make it impossible to leave work at work. The amount of redundant paperwork that is required is beyond ridiculous and takes valuable time away from actually doing the job expected. They hire upper management directly out of college, often with absolutely zero real world experience in retail or food service. Most don't last more than a couple of years after realizing retail is hard.

    Advice to Management

Keep your promises. Reward your loyal and hardest working Team Members by promoting from within. That's how you maintain a stable workforce.

    Pros

The best reasons to work at Target are the friendly people and the way the company is there for you in hard times
