I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The starting pay is very good and after only a few short months, I got promoted to a new position.

    Cons

My new position, although it has a lot more responsibility which I like, there is no pay increase at all.

    Advice to Management

If somebody is required to do a million more tasks and take on a lot more responsibility than the other workers and is often times required to come in much earlier than the rest of the team, they should have some sort of pay increase.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was pretty good for an internship at $17.50 an hour. Store and district management were very friendly and welcoming and they made it seem like they were excited to have you in the store. Discount was nice too.

    Cons

Late nights and early mornings, but thats the norm in retail management

    Pros

Didn't have to work with the public, work by yourself most of the time while stocking, managers were understanding.

    Cons

    Pay could of been better

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Enjoy customer service. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Minimal hours during off peak months. No vacation/sick time for part-time (do not really offer full time)

    Advice to Management

Have monthly meetings with team members other than managers to keep informed

I have been working at Target as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Target Stores Internship experience can vary greatly depending on the location. However, my experience was wonderful. Each and every person involved in the management all the way up to group director are extremely helpful and kind to all of the interns. If you are interested in retail management, you cannot find a better job anywhere else.

    Cons

I was in the Logistics work center which meant I had some really early mornings. Let's just say back to school season starts at 3-4 am. However, since that is the worst con I can think of, I would say it was a great experience overall.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep up the energy and continuous support of the intern program.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The People, the team aspect. Flexibility of scheduling. Benefits when full time.

    Cons

Job is very repetitive. Pay is low and raises are small. Depending on your store, you are at mercy of the quality of the management. Training of new team member is not well planned out. If you are new, you just kind of have to hope you get a good training that is knowledgeable and cares.
Also unfair distribution of labor at times

    Advice to Management

Success begins with the team members. Worry more about their development and show that you care about them. Appreciate and recognize what they do.

I worked at Target (More than 8 years)

    Pros

10% discount , bright decor to work in.

    Cons

Management, age discrimination, unattainable sales goals. Secret disciplinary processes unknown to employee. Staffing done by those who do not understand staffing requirements.

    Advice to Management

Target Pharmacy is a lost opportunity. A great concept was run into the ground by poor upper management.
