I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Many co-workers were also college students and a similiar age as me. It was easy to connect with them

    - Manager in charge of backroom was strict but reasonable

-10% company discount card (must pay in cash to use discount)

    - Fast paced/ easy to keep busy. Usually surprised at how fast my 8 hours went

As long as you are willing to learn, you will definitely be shown the ropes and get used to the job after 2-3 weeks.

    Cons

    - on bottom of corporate chain. I felt like I was easily expendable (and I was).

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You meet great people in your department and sometimes other departments. They have average benefits. You can also get a hand at learning multiple departments within one whole department. You are required to learn Cashier stuff.

    Cons

Thee management was messy at times. They over work you and expect you to finish with unrealistic times and goals. They give you unrealistic goals for the most part. They’re always under staffed. They cut hours a lot. The Backroom can get really messy. The people in this location love to gossip. They are currently having a vermin problem and I suggest if you work backroom to wear gloves. They schedule you weird hours and sometimes are not flexible.

I have been working at Target part-time

    Pros

Great coworkers and STL/ETLs. It can be a fun place to work.

    Cons

New team members being hired at almost the same pay as me to "stay competitive but no adjustments if you were already at that level. Nothing added.

    Advice to Management

There has to be a way to not badger the team members to get red cards.
If you do like other retailers instead of needing a check for the debit card make it possible to just use their ID and their bank debit card to get a Target debit card.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good environment. It's a good place to work if you like interacting with customers. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Long holiday hours. I had certain problems with members of management. Not much of an ability to advance.

    Advice to Management

Look for the good workers or contributors to the company and hand out more promotions. Spread out hours more evenly.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the management and staff are quite friendly and helpful. Break rooms are spacious and conveniently equipped with refrigerators, WiFi and a television with cable. There is a braod variety of equipment and tools to make the process of completing various tasks more efficient. The employee discount is a nice perk to working at Target as well.

    Cons

Tasks are not properly prioritized in accordance with the workflow. Consequently, the workload frequently exceeds the manpower available to complete it. This imbalance is often resolved by reassigning tasks to team members (you'll be asked to do someone else's job). Any questions or concerns you may raise regarding such reassignment will most likely be met with the uniform response of "don't worry about it."

    Pros

Great for people who never had a job before. This company can help build customer service skills.

    Cons

Some of the LODs did not agree with each other. It was hard to work under that sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    RedCard quotas?
