I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good starting pay, discount, you know about the good online returns first though you have to wait a half hour to buy. Plenty of opportunity to learn new positions and bounce around. Part time benefits. Working part time does not mean you’re restricted to part time hours, it just means you’re hourly, not salary.

    Cons

My store gets crazy busy at back to school and it can be stressful. Zoning is the worst and it makes no sense to do it at night when the overnight team is going to stock right over it and customers ruin the zone as we do it. We should zone in the morning.

    Advice to Management

The zoning issue for sure. Continue to support your employees and gain their loyalty. For the most part, I have no complaints.

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I guess the pay is better than other retail stores. I started at $11.25/hr and I'm up to $12.50/hr in less than a year. They have given me time off when I requested it.

    Cons

A few members of the management team are extremely condescending and disrespectful when they interact with employees. They are often out of walkies and mydevices, and box cutters, which are all key tools needed to do your job.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the condescending managers or retrain them to treat all employees with respect.

    Pros

    Good pay
    Worked with makeup
    Guest sample events were fun

    Cons

    No full time

“Coaching policy does not apply to employees probational period”
    Insensitive management
    Lousy policies

    Advice to Management

Coach your employees during the probational period. Not when they’re full time. That’s when you want to shape them. And don’t hire useless store team leads

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fun work environment.
Often offer perks like food for employee breaks, games to win prizes, etc.
    Lots of opportunity for promotion.
Additional 20% employee discount on wellness items such as produce, organic food, and fitness equipment.
    Flexible with day off requests.

    Cons

    Occasional lack of communication.
    Expectations not always clear.
Expectations not always realistic (heavily zone and reshop 2-3 departments alone in 2-3 hours)
If you're a good employee, you will get more and more workload. Not always a bad thing, but can often lead to stressful shifts.
Oversights in scheduling can lead to 7+ days of work in a row.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Literally, the only pro I can give is that SOME of my coworkers are extremely kind.

    Cons

    • The LOD and GSTL only cares about you if you get a Redcard. Otherwise, you're nothing to them.
    • If you call off sick, they do not care to wish you better. I called off sick with a head cold and I was hung up on after calling off. It was extremely rude. This happens with every LOD who I tell I have to call off to.
    • Cashiers are the least cared about even though we stop theft at the front of the store and insure all things are checked out and sketchy coupons aren't used.
    • If you work at the self checkout, you'll find yourself standing for 8 hours watching guests purchase their things correctly. There is no stool or designated place for the self check out team member.
    • When I started working at Target, I was seasonal but when my seasonal position was over, they never contacted me to ask if I would like to continue working for them they just kept me on the schedule.
    • The target I worked for always repeatedly asked me to stay over my regular shift hours. They would put me on the spot. For example, if my shift were from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. they would ask me to stay another hour.

    Advice to Management

Knightvest management would be to Consider your team members/employees more than you do the money your store makes in a day.
We help you make that money and we deserve respect.
