I worked at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Culture and Diversity. Benefits and Team atmosphere

    Cons

Great place to work until you make more than the next level of leadership. They expect you to promote or they look for ways to performance you out.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learned a lot in the 3 years working here. Made good friends and connections in the industry.

    Cons

    -No work life balance
-Only hiring “experts” and performancing out existing executives that have been with the company to outside hire these “experts”

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They made sure that you had a break

    Cons

Everything, nothing good. Not enough training and employees with bad attitudes. Management was decent, but horrible "leads". This place isn't nice you new staff members but everyone had a click that they're in.

    Advice to Management

More training for leads and lower-level management. Staff doesn't seem to care if it doesn't benefit them...

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Diversity and inclusivity, uniforms if you're into that, competitive benefits package if you can get 40 hours a week which seems to be challenging if you're not in any mgt/lead position.

    Cons

Inconsistency from corporate values and direction with management. Run more like a work camp. Very little empowerment for employees. Strong focus on micromanagement. It seemed that leaders were chosen for that ability more than any other ability. Scarce training which left many team members floundering and frustrated. Unrealistic expectations. Notorious for cutting hours of team members who relied on their income to support their families, pay their bills.
Team members seemed to be treated more like numbers than people. I've heard that Target did not used to be this way and this is a result of the modernization roll-out. Discount is absurdly low in comparison with so many other employee discounts. 10%. Management seemed very concerned with a stringent set of rules than actually effectively training members and servicing customers. Coverage of the floor to actually assist customers was not considered an priority.
I can honestly say this is one of the worst places I've ever worked.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to LEAD and empower your employees to encourage long-term dedication-- not micromanage.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay isn't bad but also not great.

    Cons

Management expects you to get tons of work done but keeps you understaffed. Incredibly stressful and not good for your body. I ended up at urgent care because of the strain the job put on my body. Management does not expect you to take breaks.

    Advice to Management

Hiring enough team members would really help.
