I have been working at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay & benefits are good. As a team leader, I have a set schedule for most of the year. Scheduling does change during the Christmas holidays but between overtime & holiday pay, I have no complaints. I always get my vacations & other time off requests because I make sure to put in my time off requests early. I also have a great ETL who works with her team leaders when it comes to time of f requests.

    Cons

Hours can be very tight in January & February.
Not a fan of red & khaki.

    Advice to Management

Promotions should be based on ability; not on who has a college degree. Experience needs to count more during promotions.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits, mostly strong leadership.

    Cons

Inconsistent policies that are ever-changing. Lots of responsibility regardless of pay grade.

    Advice to Management

Work with the team to make new policy changes work in a way that is fair and efficient. It's important that as we add new responsibilities and policies that we also make it all understood and fair to all team members.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Indoors, usually has AC. Usually get 40 hours even. Except for after Christmas, hours are slim to none.

    Cons

Huge workload, only 1 person per department to do everything. Management does not communicate with each other, in fact my store has 9 different leaders and they all give different directions and then get irritated when you haven't completed all the extra tasks thrown at you. They also don't promote within so if you're looking to move up, goodluck. Leaders don't work weekends either, so good luck getting a weekend off.

    Advice to Management

"Dedicated stockers" should be dedicated to stocking. Schedule cashiers as needed so salesfloor doesn't have to run and fill in, do all the reshop, complete audits, push all the freight, zone, help with online pick up orders, and complete the manual fillgroup pulls all before 11 AM.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Discount stacks with anything.
    Good benefits.
    People tend to be great.

    Cons

    Workload is disgracefully intense.
Expectation tends to veer towards unrealistic.
What the company is aspiring for is wonderful, but execution needs to be better.

    Advice to Management

Be staffed, and offer incentives to recruit “experts” and listen to the people hired to be “experts.”
