    Pros

Amazing and stable company, highly competitive, great company culture, management is incredible, and salary is nice.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay was great, got pretty good hours, had amazing coworkers

    Cons

Terrible with you having another job/ life outside of target, management was terrible, discount isn't anything

    Advice to Management

People get sick and have lives outside of work, understand that and we can't always drop everything to go to work

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Awesome coworkers, great pay (now), and 10% discount, really flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Sometimes guests are rude, when the pay was bumped to $12 experience was not well reflected in review raises, hours tend to be low 9-10 months out of the year (it helps to work in more than 1 work center though)

    Advice to Management

Team leads are fantastic, no complaints. But to the company as a whole, many long time team members feel defeated by the latest pay raise.

Remember what made Target great and get back to that.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are MANY positives about working for Target. I started out working as a Guest Experience Executive Team Lead (ETL), then worked as a Softlines/Hardlines ETL, then ended my career in Human Resources. I LOVED the face to face interaction with the team and all of our wonderful guests. Everyday was different and there was a real sense of team work when working on projects at Target. They do a nice job hiring other exceptional leaders, picking the best recruits from college campuses. They allow you to wear your own clothes and put your own spin on your outfit each day. The pay isnt terrible starting out, but I noticed that the pay raises and bonuses are a JOKE so make sure you negotiate for a higher pay starting out if you need to.

    Cons

Leadership team is expected to rotate weekends (every other) and work most holidays, except Christmas day and Easter day. Hours are long, 10+ per day

    Advice to Management

Work Life Balance tends to suffer for those working in the retail industry but I think Target could be a leader in balancing out the workload that it expects from their leadership team and front of the line workers. Its a minimum wage job for most of the team and expectations have gotten more and more aggressive around production and speed. I think this has had an impact on moral and the quality of customer service for our guests. Also, leadership team is expected to work 50hours min. per week which really does effect worklife balance and Leaders feel burnt out quickly. The work is hard, but the recognition programs you have set up and the culture around team huddles really does help boost moral and makes up for day to day "grind".

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not a bad place to work. As far as retail goes I was pretty impressed with the work environment at Target.

    Cons

Retail in general is a difficult industry to work in you're always dealing with the public and your schedule changes frequently

    Advice to Management

Management did a nice job they had a nice mentoring program which I didn't participate in keep up the good work
