I worked at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I had a wonderful 12 year career at Target. They offered me excellent opportunities that advanced my level of leadership.

    Cons

Corporate leadership is disconnected from core business and the culture of the store teams.

    Advice to Management

You lost focus on team member development.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team driven atmosphere as long as your fellow team members are all on the same page, semi-flexible scheduling, easy to ask for time off

    Cons

Suffers from micromanaging from upper management telling the store what standards they need to live up to without giving the resources to operate at that level, essentially at the mercy of whatever the Distribution Center sends you on the truck because the inventory system is a mess

    Advice to Management

More consistent communication to your teams as well as listening to your team members about suggestions to improve, flexibility in how things are done [i.e. pallets aren't allowed on the floor past the store opening but it's totally fine to throw a million displays on a pallet all through out a section and rob the morning team of equipment?]

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is my fist job. I have been able to get experience for future jobs, that's about it.

    Cons

Everything. I get treated horribly by the GSAs and LODs. I get my job threatened every single shift if I don't get a Red Card. I get talked down on. I never get all of my breaks. I never got an interview for a promotion. My hours got cut back for no reason. I get scheduled outside of my available.

    Advice to Management

Find some new GSAs, ETLs, LODs, etc. for Target 2310.
