I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Team Members are friendly
-Guests are also friendly, and work avails you endless opportunities to deal with a range of personalities
    -Work can feel rewarding
-Company culture allows for perks (i.e. free snacks/meals, movie days, etc.)
    -Employee discount
-Opportunities to cross-train in other departments, develop a varied skill set

    Cons

-Too much pressure on "selling" company cards to guests. Especially after a data breach. You've already turned away many guests on that one, so unless you have a way to improve the perks/benefits, most aren't going to be swimming back.
-Having multiple skill sets can be a disadvantage, as there are expectations to suddenly switch jobs mid-shift if a department is understaffed
-Changing your availability after being immediately hired is nonexistent, and HR takes an incredibly hands-off approach to it.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees more by being flexible with their schedules. Compensate them a bit more, and give them more incentive to "sell" than a gift card or pieing a supervisor in the face once in a while.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    CoWorkers
Try to work with you when asking for time off.

    Cons

    No Team Work
    Cafe Often Neglected
    Not Worth The Pay

    Advice to Management

Don't assume you know what it's like to work every aspect of the store. If Cafe members are asking for help or more people to be on during a shift listen to them. It's hard work that you probably wouldn't be able to do by yourself and they just barely can.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible in scheduling, enjoyable people to work with, friendly and supportive atmosphere. The management was always in a good mood and were always friendly, respectful, and curious to us employees. Multiple times a week, there would be treats for the employees, like pizza day or Popsicle day or free massage day. Definitely helped morale.

    Cons

Long hours on your feet. Rude customers.

    Advice to Management

    Keep being friendly!
