I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get all the hours you want
Most employees are friendly and approachable
In this area the guests are nice and understanding
Flexible with availability (within reason) which was great for school

    Cons

    Pushing the target redcard
Some of the higher ups aren't the most friendly and have high and sometimes unreachable expectations
    You'll probably work some holidays

    Advice to Management

That credit card isn't the meaning of life, if people get it great, if not the store won't close

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Starts at 10/hour, breaks are reasonable (15 minutes every five hours, 1 30 minute every six hours)

    Cons

Poor management (lacking in team leader for 2+ months, insufficient stocks, etc.)
    Tips cannot be accepted.
Insurance not given until employed for one year.

    Advice to Management

Please allow us to accept tips. I cannot stress how many people will leave tips for us, and how much that means for your employees, especially during the drought of hours we're experiencing. $600 a month is not enough to live off of.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The salary and career development

    Cons

The job expectations and lack of work life balance

    Advice to Management

Tasks are being continually added with nothing being removed, while we are still expected to complete everything in the same amount of time. No work life balance.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

something different to do every day

    Cons

closing hours do not signify when you will actually leave. it was not uncommon to be allowed to leave over 2 hours after the store had closed.

    Pros

Target offers great pay and great benefits.
There is also a lot of room to grow up the ladder because it is a big company, if you have talent

    Cons

There is way too much manual labor and it is like 60-75 hours a week and its tough work to do.

    Advice to Management

I would advise target leadership to give people a better work life balance. There is not really one at all currently

  9. "They don't care about their sales team."

    Pros

It's money -- not much -- but ok for supplemental income. Company is known for style and design in merchandise.

    Cons

Low pay for very boring work. Little chance for advancement. Management says their door is always open but it's only lip service. They don't care about the employees; only about moving merchandise.

    Advice to Management

Be very clear about what the expectations are to grow into a management position.
