I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are nice and some LODs will try to help you if you show them you want to work

    Cons

Constantly understaffed and expected to run around doing everything. One person should not be running four departments and answering the phone while also preventing theft in the fitting room.

    Advice to Management

Should pay more when the job task requirements are so high. Too much work for minimum wage.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great if you are an intern, or are able to move up.

    Cons

VERY by the book, though managers, supervisors and team leads will break rules on their own terms, often.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay
Great hours...only during holiday season (Oct - Dec)

    Cons

Overworking yourself because there's barely anyone on the schedule
Being called to the front of the store for Code 1's...all day
Calling for assistance over the walkie and NO ONE responding
    NO TEAMWORK

    Advice to Management

Actually CARE about your employees and not how many Redcards the store can sell. It's sad.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - A lot of hours are available, because a lot of people aren't trained for the fitting room.
    - Can do most of the work alone.

    Cons

    - No full time hours are available at the store
    - A lot of work with little appreciation
    - Hard to get breaks because people are reluctant to cover your desk.

    Advice to Management

Please act like you appreciate the fitting room attendant. Yes, they are the store operator, but do not treat them like a unwanted step child. if you they ask for you please respond.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy part time job for someone who is in high school or college. Good starting pay compared to other places. Some managers are really friendly.

    Cons

High turnover rate for team members and management. Poor communication between department managers. Horrible scheduling, constantly scheduled more or less hours than hired for and repeatedly scheduled outside of availability. Difficult to request days off. Limited opportunity to cross train.

    Advice to Management

Follow through with promises made to new hires relating to cross training. Don't guarantee certain number of hours per week to new hires then consistently schedule more/less.

    Pros

Great coworkers, good management, easy full time job, opportunities to move up eventually

    Cons

They hounded us all the time about getting red cards, pay isn't bad but could be better for cashiers and people up front

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is often above the minimum wage and you get a raise each year depending on your performance. They offer a lot of opportunities to be trained in many areas and do look for people to promote often.

    Cons

The management is horrible. They preach about using the computer system for day off requests or schedule availability changes but don't check them. Stores are often very understaffed but they won't hire more people and instead ask current employees to do their job and someone else's. Even when the store is properly staffed no matter what position you are hired as you are required to do a lot more than what is stated in your job description, which is a lot in itself.

    Advice to Management

Think about how much work you are laying on your employees and figure out if you could finish it all to your standard while helping guests and getting called around the store to do team huddles and such.
