I have been working at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

the only pro i can really think of is the people you meet through out your store and departments, thats really it.

    Cons

I’ve worked for Target for two years now - when I started working for the company, I thought it would be a fun and great experience, especially being my second retail job ever. Target does NOT care about their employees, they would rather see you fail until you can’t take it no more and leave. Corporate, the STL’s and district don’t care. This company is gonna end up losing all their loyal employees and suffer massively with hours and payroll since no one wants to shop there anymore. There are so much divisions and everyone to their own, it should never EVER be like that especially when you have to depend on one another

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, give the needed hours and don’t expect a two weeks worth of work done in two days. You’re frying your people out and taking advantage of those who are in desperate needs of a job. All these new changes and promotions, demotions and eliminations are unnecessary and will keep failing until you realize that your team is worth more than anything. Develop a relationship, work on communication and help one another.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Sometimes they put food in the break room.

    Cons

Unrealistic amount of work to be completed in a short amount of time.
Always expected to stay veyond scheduled time with no notice.
    Very strange "culture."

    Advice to Management

Upper management (beyond store level) need to rethink their expectations. Also if you want people to do four jobs in one, then pay accordingly.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hardly anything?? Maybe employee discount but even then they hound you to sign up for a red card to benefit the front end team lead. Absolutely classless.

    Cons

    Horrible, terrible, dreadful, just gross.

    Advice to Management

Way too high of a work load. You are crazy if you think people are going to tolerate being mistreated. Peace out Girl Scout!

I have been working at Target (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy work , you can get away with slacking off.

    Cons

Managers give hours to their favorite people, even if they are unproductive. Very cliquey and NO room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

reward your hard workers. saying good job does not help pay bills.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great coworkers, team environment, can be a really fun place to work
    - Customers treat you like you're human

    Cons

    - Will be required to work absurd hours, sometimes days over 14 hours as a manager
    - Meager pay, especially if you accept a manager job
    - Payroll is insane. They don't give out any hours, so it shows the company is dying

    Advice to Management

Retire, and go work somewhere else like K-Mart, where people who are incapable of running a company should go. You obviously have no ability to compete with other large retailers, so you are the problem. Having a slave labor force paid minimum wage won't make up for your inability to run a company

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's an income. That's about it. I had insurance and 401k. I could take time off after awhile. I was promoted fast.

    Cons

Discrimination based on medical condition. Sad really. You can take leave if you are ill but don't expect to be respected when you come back.

    Advice to Management

These are humans not robots. Take a minute to listen.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It has better pay than corporate starbucks stores. You get target discounts. Flexible scheduling. You can pick up shifts in other departments

    Cons

Benefits through target take a year before you can get them, not structured at all compared to corporate starbucks, not clean at all, no management

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make a shift lead or bring starbucks values to target more
