I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Generous 401k, great place to get leadership experience, flexibility in schedule, generous pay to start

    Cons

Weekend work and Holidays, continue to cut payroll and increase expectations. Expected to run a store with only 8 people on the schedule at any given time. Difficult to meet demands

    Advice to Management

Understand that your employees are working for just over minimum wage. We have to manage our expectations based on the individuals working there. Be kind to them, it will go a long way!

    Pros

Team member discount, free food in break room (sometimes), friendly co-workers/guests

    Cons

rude management, lack of training, the hours, & their break schedule

    Advice to Management

If I was manager at Target in Fort Worth, I'd provide a second day of training to cover coupons, price matching, what to do when things go wrong, etc. The training doesn't cover everything. Also, don't be rude to your seasonal employees, you may see them again on the floor as a guest!

I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a great opportunity to meet new people and I excelled because I'm great with costumer service. It was a great experience for me.

    Cons

The only cons for working for Target is the hours were not good.

    Advice to Management

    N/a

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Most of the hourly employees were ok to work with.

    Cons

Far too many (not all) of the managers, team leads, and trainers were condescending, snobbish, and verbally abusive. This was one of the most negative work environments I have encountered. The store manager and HR director were part of the problem. They covered the backsides of the abusive leaders. Cronyism is alive and well at Target.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to call all of these people on the carpet and to fire them. Now that I know what really goes on behind the scenes at the store where I worked, I have no intention of shopping there or of helping that management team to meet its daily sales goals. I refuse to support a management team that treats employees as commodities instead of as people.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team has strong work ethic, great pay, 10% storewide discount to be combined with 5% REDcard and Cartwheel, ample breaks, focused on the individual.

    Cons

Minimum 3 week time off notice, fluctuating hours and therefore paycheck, workload varies in work centers though pay often remains the same.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on people and less of raking in as much cash as possible; money will come with making people happy.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love the people work with, and the discount is pretty helpful at times.

    Cons

They tend to ignore requests for promotions on occasion, also the raises are terrible.

    Advice to Management

make it a little easier to move up in the company as a whole.

I have been working at Target part-time

    Pros

I personally think target can be a very enjoyable job, the best part has to be the coworkers . You meet some really cool people . Also you pretty much get the chose when you work so think about that when they ask for your availability. You get a 10% discount and at my location they some times feed us .

    Cons

They are extremely annoying when it comes to pushing red cards , and I do truly feel like that's the only thing they actually care about .
Now they will show favoritism ALOT of it. Who ever brings in the most red cards will get the best treatment
Upper management doesn't really care about you at all!

    Advice to Management

Pick your employees more carefully , drug test and to upper management such a team leaders . Be more respectful and down to earth.
