I worked at Target part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good company culture. They care about rewarding workers and promoting teamwork.

    Cons

Sometimes it gets tiring when they expect you to finish your floor assignments (e.g. stock shelves) and always be available to assist guests at the register or guests who call the store for help.

I worked at Target full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Target makes an effort to pay competitively and the corporation really cares about creating a positive work environment. Target provides great tools for leadership so that they are able to care for their team if they make the effort to do so. Great opportunities for advancement and leadership if you stay >1 year. 10% discount on everything except alcohol (with use of a RedCard, Gift Card, or cash).

    Cons

The "Hotline," a direct line to corporate HR, is a great resource but is easily abused. Complaints are not anonymous as promised, and lying about sexism or abuse is easy, as evidenced by a coworker who got a large promotion based on a false complaint of sexism. Work-life balance sucks. Days off are generally approved, but requesting time off is extremely discouraged, despite having more than enough team members to fill shifts. There is no system to volunteer for holidays to ensure that people who want to get scheduled can, and people who don't want to get scheduled don't.

I have been working at Target full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great people to work with, great guests for most part, nice breakroom, good pay

    Cons

Doesn’t fully train us on everything efficiently, softlines team has a high amount of responsibilities can be stressful, team leads say one thing then change their minds the next, bad communication. Never enough devices we need for all workers or walkies also devices won’t work for some people a lot of the time.

I worked at Target part-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Good training process and ability to work in different departments -Decent pay -Chill environment

    Cons

-Inconsistent scheduling hours. Maybe it was just me, but some weeks I worked lots of hours, and some weeks I worked a lot less. However, you can always talk to your ETL to get more hours.

I have been working at Target full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I would say great team members to work with, some of the managers and team leads are great, some guests really sweet, Day flies by if you are working a long shift because there’s always something to be done.

    Cons

Now target has changed a bit I feel they expect a lot out of there employees for little pay. Not enough people scheduled to work and lots of work is thrown on one person. A enormous amount of things expected out of us and some things haven’t been trained fully on yet the leads say there’s no time really.

I have been working at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Target has flexible scheduling, decent entry level pay, and the job is usually easy. Workers are encouraged to be friendly and they usually hire friendly people dayside.

    Cons

The major shortage of hours January through June. If your normal is about 30 hours, some weeks in a row you can be as low as 8 hours or 10 hours. The upper management likes to play with hours and keep workers as scarce as possible in order to save money yet, the workload remains the same if not more due to the shortage of workers. To top it off, they'll continue hiring people despite telling workers that are already there that there aren't enough hours to go around. Target does not care about the long-term worker.

I have been working at Target part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You can advance all the way to an ETL position without a college degree to earn a 50k+ salary. It can be a very nice work environment where you can enjoy going to work.

    Cons

People can get away with only partially doing their job with out getting in trouble for their actions and puts more stress on the other teams in the store. can be stressful at times it is retail after all.

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Leading a Team of dynamic Team Members. It is the Team Members that make the job so enjoyable. The learning also goes both ways, I learn from them while they learn from me. Career advancement if you are a hard worker and willing to move..a lot.

    Cons

Lots of changes are bring brought down through the pipe-line, so there never is a "Right" way of doing things. Not a lot of creative style allowed for the plain fact Target is a National chain and every store needs to be the same. The company also hires A LOT of inexperienced college students from the outside while there are PLENTY of experienced Team Members wanting to clime the ladder.
