I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great, the benefits and discounts are generous

    Cons

Weird scheduling and superiors don't converse with the hourly workers who ultimately get the worse end of their decisions

    Advice to Management

CONVERSE MORE! Don't just assume that your idea is the base, or that your new way is really even a good one.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The guests. Team members. 20 word minimum. Word word word word. 20 word minimum. 20 word minimum. 20 word minimum.

    Cons

These are the facts You will be lied to. If you need to call out for legitimate illness or if your child is sick your hours will be docked by half at least. You will be expected to do the work of four people in a four hour shift and then written up if you cannot get it all done. This company is horrible cares nothing about the people who do the hard work. The money goes towards the ETSLs who do nothing are condescending and use power phrases that you get basic management training. It was an embarrassment to work for this company. I am ashamed of being a part of target practices. And it is a disgusting, Hostile work environment created from the top trickling down. Don’t work for them

    Advice to Management

It is pointless to fill this section out because Management refuses to listen to team members.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly coworkers and flexible scheduling. Have a generally clean workplace with readily available cleaning products.

    Cons

too many coworkers who slack around too much to the point where most of the work goes to those who do work

    Advice to Management

Either move the employees who can't do their job efficiently to a job they can do or fire them to make room for more efficient employees.

The constant nag about signing people up for Red Cards.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Company truly values guest service as top priority and it shows from the Top Down.
Plenty of options for career growth if you have a college degree.
Management salaries are above average, great benefits compared to other retail companies.

    Cons

Many work centers are overworked and under staffed causing burnout and high turnover.
As Manager you are often asking employees to stay and finish work missed by callouts then next day kicking them out early and leaving work undone to save payroll.
Schedule is very inconsistent and Holidays are very demanding.
Career path gets capped at middle Management without college degree.

    Advice to Management

"Minimizing Payroll to Maximize Profit" mentality is true root of all obstacles. (High turnover, poor attendance, low team engagement, poor guest service, empty shelves and low productivity.) Squeezing a rock a little harder doesn't get water.

    Pros

Nice co workers, they recognize when needed.
Very independent job, along with the 15 mins breaks and 30 min meals.
    Good job

    Cons

Scheduling is terrible, between being a single mom and school.
The ETL and TL can be very possessive and rude
Rude snarky comments over the walkies if you respond right away its world war 3

    Advice to Management

    Don't micro manage
