I worked at Target full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Team focused environment. Leadership and development focused company. Great benefits and pay. Flexible scheduling. Staff training was a priority. Guest service was an important sales driver.

    Cons

Retail scheduling during the fourth quarter. Team members did not receive great pay and benefits. Upward mobility was not based on performance rather than on outside circumstances.

    Advice to Management

Great working environment and leadership opportunities. The team aspect and goal driven environment is a benefit to working for a fast paced retail company. Leadership must continue to focus on the team members and their development and scheduling.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I enjoy working with the public! I have always like Target as a place to shop it’s inviting and very organized also very clean!

    Cons

When you are dealing with the public sometimes not everyone is as social and can be rude at times that’s one of the cons of working with the public! You never get ugly with them always maintain a good attitude and try your best to assist them!

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is good, however, I did my research and negotiated during the interview to ensure that I was getting paid what I deserved.

    Cons

When I began working here I was shocked at how incompetent management is. This lack of knowledge is comming from the Senior Manager and ETL's. ( Probably not a good idea to hire ETL's right out out of college. ) It is apparent that most of them are very inexperienced and lead based on fear. If it wasn't for the handful of employees that actually do good work. (The TL's) This small little Target would have closed just like the anandoned mall next to it due to having poor net and negative comp. sales.

***It's also important to note that I am not a part of the Target management team, but, my position involves me communicating with all of them.

    Advice to Management

This particular Target needs a management overhaul before they loose the few good employees they have. To do this, just send out an anonymous employee questionnaire asking them how they feel about the current management.
