I worked at Target full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Everybody was pretty friendly and the atmosphere was very positive. Enjoyed coming to work and felt accomplished at the end of the day

      Cons

Like everywhere else, communication is not the best. Also my department was pretty understaffed and we were struggling to keep up, but management didn't seem to want to make hiring more people for us more of a priority.

I have been working at Target part-time for less than a year

      Pros

The team members are more than friendly it seems in most cases (That or I was more fortunate) and it's a great way to gain more social skills, as it's a very active Retail environment. Grocery helps mold into you a sense of responsibility and time management, in a sense that you're required to push a lot of shipment onto the floor in a shift to ensure guests are able to find what they need on their shopping trips and...

      Cons

There are downsides, but it wouldn't be a job without some. So to start off with, as mentioned in the title, there is quite a hefty amount of Grocery shipment to get out onto the floor to get out to guests so that it can be purchased and guests go about their day. Your agenda is to get whatever you are able to out, then whatever won't go out to back stock in the back room to pull from later so as to replenish. You'll...

      Advice to Management

For some stores there are the issues of scheduling and lack of reliable team members in evenings to ensure work is complete prior to closing. In meaning sometimes it's difficult to finish unloading a truck and leaving nothing else laying about without sufficient amount of help or time to do so. Hopefully one complaint would be enough to prevent this issue as its happened to me dozens of times where I needed to have another...

I worked at Target part-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

You don't have to deal with annoying Christmas music because they don't play music. Sometimes would get "parties" for employees where you'd get food and drinks.

      Cons

The company would act like they cared about you, but the company isn't much better then Walmart. Granted the food parties were nice, but it was basically like giving a crying child candy. Doing it just to keep the employees from complaining. No clear communication on what needs done and if someone isn't doing their job you are supposed to correct them because management is nowhere to be found. Spending excessive amounts...

      Advice to Management

You have an expiration date at these stores and are constantly shuffled around, so don't like you're better then everyone else there. It's nice to stay connected with customers, but wasting time doing the stupid little interaction cards constantly is just a waste of time.

I worked at Target for more than a year

      Pros

Left alone pretty much of the time.

      Cons

Heavy workload with little assistance from management. Bad pay, dead-end job.

      Advice to Management

Don't schedule people to do the night shift and then the next opener. It's stupid.

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Typically a judgement free place to work. Pay is fair.

      Cons

Advancement opportunities are almost impossible. Higher positions are typically outsourced.

      Advice to Management

Be honest and sympathetic with your team. Don’t make them work harder promising “talks” of advancement if you know that’s not your intention.
