Some times the chain of command was blurry. Knowing who exactly you should go to when faced with a issue was sometimes hard

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Your usually on your own here. People pop in and out otherwise quiet place.

    Cons

Should pay more than sales floor or cashier, you take a lot of crap!

    Advice to Management

People who have been proven and have seniority should get credit for that!

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Evening and weekend hours that work if one has a daytime job.

    Cons

If workers comp dept states "light duty" while recovering from an injury adhere to that. Don't guilt/bully an employee into working with an injury.

    Advice to Management

See cons--also don't dismiss and talk down to employees it's demeaning and deters from morale.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Being able to work with people of different background and to learn something new in different department. Working with the public and being able to help out in the community in a big way also helps you at a deeper level that you would never expect.

    Cons

Having guest get yell at you and blame things that you may not have any control over the situation.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees how you want to be treated. Even though your job is stressful, but taking it out on the employees because of the stress will not help them get the job done, but will not want to work there again.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The wage helped with paying for college. The hours were pretty flexible. Knowing when there were good sales/deals was a plus. The 10% discount was ok. Great place to learn customer service skills.

    Cons

Supervisors and managers were often people who moved up from lower entry-level positions and developed authoritarian ego complexes and used their position to fuel their power trips. They rarely showed employee appreciation because everyone is an easily replaceable number. Extreme patience is necessary because the general public has little to no respect for retail workers, especially during/after holidays.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees they know what they are talking about
