I have been working at Target full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Cons

-High turnover, lack of leadership stability in Distribution -No work-life balance at the exec level and no support for it either -Lack of technology and need to invest in employee tools and resources to increase bandwidth, data, and overall efficiency

    Advice to Management

-Support work-life balance and be the example of it. You do not make it desirable to give extra effort nor to promote/advance

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fast paced, high energy, great products that you can be proud to support, cool people. Many new ETLs are young, often straight out of college- which I was, too- so it was great, my very best friends were also my co-workers. It was perfect for that time in my life, no kids, no house, no masters program, no spouse- so it was fine to work weekends, holidays and often 12 hour days. The hard work paid off and the one thing...

    Cons

The amount of work, hours and pressure was not sustainable for me personally, and for many of the other ETLs that I knew. Currently I no longer know anyone who still works as an exec for Target, as they all left for other jobs after a couple years. The idea of working all holidays, every other weekend, overnight shifts etc was OK straight out of college. But, when I wanted to start a family, get my masters, have a more...

    Advice to Management

Aim to support more of a work/life balance. It will reduce the amount of college hire ETL turnover.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1) The work culture is entirely different compared to any other organization which i have worked so far 2) Lot of feedback which will help you to shape up as a leader 3) Work environment is very relaxed and you may not feel tensed due to work during any time of the year...except for few businesses which are super busy during peak season

    Cons

    1) Leadership sucks...no thought leadership it's a tipical top down company they do only what HQ in Minneapolis say 2) It's not a complete transparent company...people may not say what they feel and adverse is equally true 3) Unless you are a 'Yes Boss' person you will not get growth

    Advice to Management

this is to top management in Minneapolis...change the leadership in India and specially the spineless HR leaders....
