I have been working at Target (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great pay
    Always work to do
    Days go by quickly

    Cons

    Work/Life balance is non existent
Often work past midnight and rotating weekends. From Nov-Jan you work every weekend, usually 10am-8pm at the very least.
POLITICS GALORE. Nice to your face, talk crap behind your back
Corporate sees you as a number, not a person

    Advice to Management

People at corporate plan everything you do at a store level.. without actually working in the stores. AKA the expectations are unrealistic

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a new hire, everyone was friendly about explaining how to do things. This included team leaders, human resources, and seasoned staff you might have to shadow when you start. If you like moving around, stocking and unstocking shelves, altering displays, or changing price tags, this is the job for you.

    Cons

The work is not particularly exciting or complicated. It's really a show-up-do-your-work-and-go-home dynamic. This is fine if you have school or are waiting on better jobs to come through, and need a simple job for some cash flow. If you are not on the customer service side, your shift may start before the sun rises or when most people are going to bed (plan your sleep accordingly).

    Advice to Management

Maybe have more flexibility regarding when an employee can take time off for outside employment/job searching activities, but I understand management does not want policies to actively facilitate staff leaving for better jobs or create too much of a revolving door for new hires.
