I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good recognition for the work that you do, also it's a fun environment to work in. Coworkers are the best part.

    Cons

I would like to see more trust coming from leaders and less micro managing. The individuals that know what they're doing get taken advantage of and the people who don't do well are babied and don't have to do as much work.

    Advice to Management

    See above.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Sometimes they put food in the break room.

    Cons

Unrealistic amount of work to be completed in a short amount of time.
Always expected to stay veyond scheduled time with no notice.
    Very strange "culture."

    Advice to Management

Upper management (beyond store level) need to rethink their expectations. Also if you want people to do four jobs in one, then pay accordingly.

    Pros

Great staff and hours. Supportive management.

    Cons

Very poor compensation. You will have a hard time paying bills

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The coworkers were quality people, with usually positive attitudes
    - easy system for asking for time off work if you need it. Fairly easy to trade give away shifts

    Cons

    - you will work for a WHILE before you get just a $0.25 raise
    - management preaches lame teamwork crap like robots

    Advice to Management

Come back down to earth! Stop treating "vibes" like a valued currency to your employees and maybe you will keep the average employee longer than 4 months.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Atmosphere, Decent Discount, Free Flu Shot, friendly co-workers, flexible schedule

    Cons

Seasonal Employees; If you're told they're not keeping you, you're expected to continue working out your shifts instead of meeting other possible employers for interviews,
Also, I was led to believe I'd be hired on permanently.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the environment of where I work. All of the other employees seem to be on the same wave length, willing to work hard and have fun while doing so. This is not the type of job for someone who wants to sit at a desk all day. There is a lot of hands on work.

    Cons

You work alternating weekends and holidays. This is definitely a con but the people you work with make it better. Any job in the hospitality industry requires this kind of input of work so for me this was nothing but expected.

    Advice to Management

I look up to my boss, Joe, a great deal. He is a wonderful mentor and has shaped me into the type of leader I had always wanted to be.

I worked at Target as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good leadership experience, and pretty much guarantee you a position when you graduate if you preform well. Great to put on a resume and good pay for a summer job!

    Cons

If you are ready to handle retail and crazy hours than this is for you. Also not a desk job, you will be very hands on.

    Advice to Management

Overall good experience, just wish I could have been able to work in other departments that I actually saw a future in.

    Pros

    Flexible schedule, Upbeat working environment

    Cons

A lot of work for little pay

    Advice to Management

When someone says their part- time, honor that. Don't give them 40 hour weeks when they've expressed they can't work that.
