I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast Paced, opportunity to move up in company, they provide you with the proper tools to be successful, interaction with guests is a plus.

    Cons

Constant change in focuses, a lot of pressure which can cause stress, if salaried you work long hours, district and regional managers pop in a lot and seems to put everyone on edge.

    Advice to Management

Try not to change the focuses as much. That might help keep employees longer. Provide more training opportunities to educate employees.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits package. Most co-workers are friendly. Occasionally food is catered in for all team members.

    Cons

Pay and reviews are based on favoritism not skill level, or work quality, Seniority and sick pay don't exist.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone with the same respect you want to receive.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay and benefits
    Store discount
Most stores have a solid team environment
    Bonus opportunities
    Team Leader promotions occur
    Constant change

    Cons

Upper management picks favorites and doesn't value opinions of others

Zero work-life balance (which they try to preach)- I was working over 60 hours a week and only required to work 50. Only one day off a week.

Was rarely given requested vacation days off

Team members showing interest to promote are not listened to

    Hard to promote

Training- I trained for 8 weeks for a position and was then thrown into a new store in a completely different position and was expected to succeed

    Advice to Management

Stop and listen to and take care of the team. Employees are your number one asset.

    Pros

    Friendly Associates
    Ability to Cross Train
    Interaction with Guests and Associates
    Company discount
    Diverse culture
    Care about you taking breaks
    Individual recognition.

    Cons

Pay. I don't know how you live on wage unless you live at home or have other income
So many Team Leaders. Top Heavy
    Too many acronyms
No benefits for one year. Really?

    Advice to Management

So much emphasis on speed. Not quality. Why so many managers. Reward hard work the hourly Associates do. Will say Team leaders do pitch in from time to time. They need to spend more time on zoning. Less time on walkie talkies.
