I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very diverse and comfortable environment. Decent pay for fairly light workload and flexible schedule.

    Cons

Logistics at my particular store is terrible. There is a ton of miscommunication between leaders, and inventory and display/advertising mistakes are abundant.

    Advice to Management

Clear communication between leaders and team members is key.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is above minimum, staff seemed friendly

    Cons

HR will yank an offer for no reason, then refuse to acknowledge what they have done, corporate lets them get by with whatever they want, calling is a waste of time. Offered seasonal employees the chance to stay on only if they were below a certain age. Lied and said they did not bump older workers from orientation even when corporate sent out the rescheduling notice

    Advice to Management

Start holding the HR departments accountable, your corporate office lets them discriminate at will with no chance of retaliation

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discount is 10% and an extra 20% on health foods and c9 apparel. Customers are a little nicer than other retailers like WalMart.

    Cons

Temperature isnt controlled in the store so sometimes it's hot and sometimes its freezing.

    Advice to Management

When people are scheduled to leave at 1015pm then dont expect them to stay late EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!!!!

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was lucky enough to get great training! And customers really do come first!

    Cons

Cross collaboration can be difficult, there were days when my team needed support from other operation teams... To be brief, you must be able to hold your team and others accountable to achieve store and company goals.

    Advice to Management

As Team Lead you do report to Store Leads... If you can adopt "one team, one score" it will help your operation teams and in turn it will drive to better customer experiences.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits package. Most co-workers are friendly. Occasionally food is catered in for all team members.

    Cons

Pay and reviews are based on favoritism not skill level, or work quality, Seniority and sick pay don't exist.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone with the same respect you want to receive.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay and benefits
    Store discount
Most stores have a solid team environment
    Bonus opportunities
    Team Leader promotions occur
    Constant change

    Cons

Upper management picks favorites and doesn't value opinions of others

Zero work-life balance (which they try to preach)- I was working over 60 hours a week and only required to work 50. Only one day off a week.

Was rarely given requested vacation days off

Team members showing interest to promote are not listened to

    Hard to promote

Training- I trained for 8 weeks for a position and was then thrown into a new store in a completely different position and was expected to succeed

    Advice to Management

Stop and listen to and take care of the team. Employees are your number one asset.

    Cons

Racist store manager & supervisors. Working here is legit hell. Only apply if temporary

    Advice to Management

    You need to be fired.
