I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work-life balance, (sometimes) friendly and fun bosses, incentives and recognition for reaching certain goals, opportunity to meet interesting and lifelong friends.

    Cons

Low base pay (for now), bosses can be overly demanding, having to deal with rude guests.

    Advice to Management

Treat team members as essential parts of a machine, or simply as human beings. Rewarding, encouraging, and connecting with them helps increase and maintain team morale for a healthy Target brand.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Welcoming environment
Company's ideas/values are great, potential to be awesome IF there's a solid management team
Creative/fun activities to get team members excited
HR members very supportive and helpful
    Raffles to reward team members

    Cons

Not able to get many hours in slow seasons
    Slacking team members not reprimanded
Had to make up large amounts of work from/for team members who did not complete tasks (Yes you are supposed to be a team and help each other but at times it was ridiculous)
Drama/immaturity within sales floor team members

    Advice to Management

Take more time to acknowledge associates who perform exceptionally, but mostly take more responsibility to handle associates who are not contributing as expected.
    Communicate more within management team
Be more involved with team members to be on the same page
Notice lazy workers and weed them out
Hire less employees so team members can acquire more hours

    Pros

Great job stability, room for promotion, great team environment, fun place to work, room to transfer anywhere in the country, great benefits

    Cons

Inconsistent expectations, expectations are really high for what they pay you, promotions are consistently not based on most qualified a lot of the time image plays too much of a part, terrible raises only one per year which does not give room to make decent money
