I worked at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

They were extremely flexible with my schedule and a very laid back atmosphere! My managers were always supportive and you can always pick up more hours if you wanted.

    Cons

Sometimes worked random hours and not much of a career job.

    Advice to Management

Look for opportunities where your employees will grow and succeed.

I have been working at Target for less than a year

    Pros

They would give you extra hours if they had it and you wanted it.

    Cons

Management played favoritism giving more hours to the ones they were friends with vs. those who were dependable. Hired Seasonal workers based on favoritism and not performance.

    Advice to Management

Don't speak down to your employees. Be honest instead of lying or embellishing things. If you are going to flirt with the girls in the store at night, at least do it away from others and be less creepy about it.

I worked at Target part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You gain a ton of experience in dealing with customers and customer service. At Starbucks you learn to deliver high quality products in a timely manner while providing the best service. These skills are important no matter the job.

    Cons

Certain higher up managers don't understand what it's like day to day, hour to hour for each department. Starbucks was regularly slammed, but management continued to cut hours so only one employee would be working at a time. This made it extremely difficult to take care of customers and the daily responsibilities such as cleaning, stocking, etc.

    Advice to Management

Spend time with your employees and ask what a typical shift looks like. If they're asking for more help/assistance, give it to them. Your employees need to know they're valued.

    I worked at Target

    Pros

Decent pay and hours. Mostly nice coworkers

    Cons

Horrible upper management, shove the red card down your throat and put you in compliance book if you don't get one.

    Advice to Management

Do a complete overhaul and ask your employees about their opinions on how to increase the selling of red card

I worked at Target full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive pay, starting wage is above minimum wage. Team members get a 10% discount and somewhat flexible scheduling

    Cons

Lack of training and feedback except during review time. I was technically full time but was only given 25 to 30 hours at the end of my time there.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job of training and giving feedback on how employees are doing. Give out more hours especially to those who need it and are willing to work

    Had to put something here.
