    Pros

I enjoyed the team atmosphere and environment. I enjoyed working with fun team leaders. The interview process was pretty efficient.

    Cons

I helped train someone after only working a couple weeks. Requesting time off was a huge hassle. Say I requested off for a wedding weeks in advance I'd have to call in the day off or hope someone took my shift off the board.

    Advice to Management

Stronger training on register. I worked in soft lines, but I frequently worked the register less effectively because the training wasn't very thorough

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

discount. flexible scheduling. flexible department transfers.

    Cons

feast or famine hours. Have to leave and return in order to get promotions. raises are laughable. Was the only team member to get an outstanding on my reviews and got a 20 cent raise every time. No bonuses for anyone except store management. Will transfer you from Full time to Part time with out telling you.

    Advice to Management

Care more about the employees that work hard and don't get jack.

    Cons

Closing shift works late nights, understaffed often

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was very good and i enjoyed interacting with the customers. Cashier jobs can get boring quickly, but the guests are sometimes really funny or insightful.

    Cons

The most hours you will get part-time is about 20 and a lot of the time it is lower. I've gotten as little as 7 hours a week. The store is disorganized and management is rude and gossips about the coworkers.

    Advice to Management

I think most people that have worked at target know what the environment is like and that it definitely needs some improvement.

    Pros

Meeting great people and great guests. Depending on what department and location you are in, it could be one of the very few great stores for you.

    Cons

Too many bad apple managers now. On the floor training is minimal, pay and hours can be horrible too.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Always something to do; fun team members; many different areas of the store to learn.

    Cons

moving up to management from the inside is extremely difficult. If you do not intern, or come in from the outside it is almost impossible to get a promotion (even if you are overly qualified).

    Advice to Management

At the west Marietta target (ga), I would tell them to respect their team members more and try to be more inclusive.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the guests are relatively cooperative. the people i worked with were amazing. the pay was pretty decent.

    Cons

there was barely any training (for instance they wanted us to make 300% sure nobody was using a fake bill but they didn't show us what to look for, etc.). my store was a bigger store so we had a LOT of people come in and out. we were held to really high standards, especially with REDcards. REALLY BAD WITH UNDERSTANDING THAT COLLEGE STUDENTS NEED TO GO TO CLASS AND DO HOMEWORK INSTEAD OF WORKING ALL DAY EVERY DAY

    Advice to Management

make sure you're giving breaks on time and let's just say you know you have an issue when the store team leader hops on a register, breaks it, and then looks at an employee he hired not even a month before to get answers.
