I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good hours fun people and team environment. I made great friends while here and learned a lot about merchandising and selling.

    Cons

Leadership doesn't listen to team members opinions on change. They ask for opinions but, always end up doing what they want instead.

    Advice to Management

We work on the floor, we may know what works better for ourselves and other team members, listen to us please!

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent for this to be my first job. Another pro is the ability to switch which target you work at if you haven't been reported any in the past two months.

    Cons

No benefits. I've been working at target for 8 months and I have 0 sick or vacation days. I basically have to work whenever they schedule me to or risk getting fired.

    Advice to Management

Dealing with the guest needs in addition to zoning, doing pulls, reshop, backstocking, and taking the phone calls can be overwhelming. It would be nice to have additional people on floor or in the back to help with all of the daily duties.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ok starting salary out of college

    Cons

Bad experience working at Target - overworked managers who are required to "develop" their team while giving out measly $0.20 raises to workers who spend 15 years on thejob

I have been working at Target full-time

    Pros

The only thing that's great about Target is the benefits

    Cons

No worklife balance, Horrible executive leadership, extremely unprofessional, lack of district management leadership, Management turnover rate very high

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It pays well for hourly team members. Good discount for team members. You can move up quickly at the hourly level if you work hard.

    Cons

You have to obtain a bachelor's degree to become a salaried employee. I have one and Target would dangle that promotion for too long without acting. Company has become stagnant and with new store structures comes with way too high of expectations for 1 person to do. No empathy for life outside of work. There is more to life than your job/career.

    Advice to Management

Get it together! If a team lead with 10 plus years of experience is qualified to be an ETL and they don't have a degree, promote them. I had one when I was there and saw kids right or of college with no job experience get ETL positions. I was there with Target experience and a degree but you guys chose cheaper, lazier labor. You lost a great leader in myself and have since thrived at another big box retailer.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The HR office makes sure to provide free snacks in the break room with regular frequency, which was very nice. And many of my coworkers were great people; we bonded over the many miserable days spent in that store.

    Cons

Target's management are, on the whole, quite rude and quasi-incompetent. Their "best practices" are not impressive at all. They refuse to schedule enough employees to complete a task, and then chew them out for not doing as much work as a full team would. An anti-union propaganda video is shown during orientation, to dissuade anyone from getting any bright ideas about organizing. And the equipment is often in disrepair or not provided in sufficient numbers to keep everyone equipped.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating human beings like cattle. We're not. Corporate culture would improve if you dropped the fake smiles and started paying us a living wage.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Pay, Focus on Teamwork, Focus on development (promoted 3 times in 3 and a half years), Overall company culture is a great thing to be a part of, Having the Target brand on your resume is a GREAT thing,

    Cons

Growth potential, resources decreased significantly in my brief 3 and half years in role,

    Advice to Management

Allow and encourage promotional tracks that aren't specifically operations based.
