I have been working at Target (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly coworkers

Multiple Breaks + a Lunch break

Nice pay for a first job or part time. Even can be nice for a full time job of a young person.

    Cons

Trucks can sometime bring in a ton of freight which can be tiresome but honestly, there are no cons.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Target isn't open 24/7 so you work decent hours
    Cashiering is easy job
    Seem to want to promote
Decent pay for people with little retail experience

    Cons

    Need a better training plan
None so far that are out of the ordinary for a retail job

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The pay is really great.

    Cons

They don’t work with your school schedule if you’re in school, they expect you to have open availability 24/7, The corporate leaders that visit are very rude and don’t address you at all unless you’re “important”.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your team members like crap and maybe employees will stay .

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    *Work with my school schedule
    *Employee benefits are nice.
    *Recognize hard work

    Cons

IMO, flow team appears to be a dead-end job and not something someone should consider to work for years on end or think of as a career. There's always something better out there.

*Company changes a LOT, not necessarily a con but definitely something I've noticed while working here. Not a problem for me as I can adjust.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is enjoyable and easy to work with.

    Cons

Security is seriously lacking lately. So many incidents lately the Corp office needs to make some serious changes to ensure employee and safety of guests. I'm in that area I'm disappointed. There is now one 1 cashier on each shift. Very bad idea. One cashier can't do the work of 3 employees alone as there is no downtime for extra duties. We're only getting 8 to 10 hrs a week cause they hire a overload of people we don't need and not enough hrs to go around. I'm forced to look for another job. I can't meet my mortgage payments.

    Advice to Management

Eliminating the constant need for team target and and get more cashiers on the weekends when it's desperately needed. One cashier is extremely overworked with so many duties we can't get to.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a good place to start with or as a long term career. They have a great brand with a staff that up holds the standards of this brand. Goes without saying that it has a reputation for the higher end of the market.

    Cons

Any and all work or professional environments involve an element of politics. People can and will have different opinions on what to expect from others.

    Advice to Management

Whatever you are doing keep it up and give more positive verbal communications when at all possible.

I have been working at Target part-time

    Pros

I absolutely love working at my target. Great staff and everyone works well as team. Professional and polite.

    Cons

Downside is we cant more than 15 hrs a week to meet our bill obligation. Even when short staffed, they dont give us the option of getting extra hrs so we can meet our goals for the day and close on time.

    Advice to Management

Part time workers need more hrs. In stead of so many new hires, give some of us the option of having extra hrs. You have some great dedicated workers that need to work so we can all meet our daily goals together.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company is very forward thinking and teaches about leadership regardless of one’s background. Company is very competitive with pay and benefits.

    Cons

Company is forward thinking, sometimes to a fault and making moves too quickly (Target Canada). Expect 60+ hour weeks, while doing a majority of your work below your pay grade.
