I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was a good atmosphere between employees there and I made many great connections with people that I am still in touch with. Security was also very helpful and always available to assist us in keeping merchandise security policies intact.

    Cons

Upper management wasn't always friendly or approachable.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with a great team, 21st century company with a modern vision, working for the best company in retail, diverse team.

    Cons

I was a team lead, and there was much room for advancement to the ETL level when they're constantly bringing in fresh ETL's that graduated college. The benefits are lousy to for hourly employees.

    Advice to Management

Look to what Walmart and Amazon are doing instead of constantly hiring ETL's fresh from school, get people that work for your stores in the positions!

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a job that gives a meager income to higher age group.

    Cons

Constant harrassment about red cards , when cashier duties clearly state you are Not a sales position. Immature management, both in age and attitude. Target does care to follow law as far as employee rights go. Faviritism rampant. Over a certain age? Expect to be discriminateted against. Constant visits to office for "conversations"

    Advice to Management

Hire more seasoned management. Leave employees alone to do their job whenYou don't the job yourslf. Stop sneaking notes on you phones and pda's, we aren't stupid we know you are just spying.career 1 star, yu advance if liked, not if you know & do the the job. Compensaton, other stores give reward for opening credit card account. Work Balance 1 star, leads are given every other week end off because they get stressed..regular employee doesn't get stressed.? Senior management, 1 star, store Bias throuought.Culture &value, 1 star. Would give zero if able. this company goes against all Christian values. A will leave ASAP

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Fun work environment
    Caring staff members
    Flexible shifts
    Employee discount

    Cons

    Favortism
    Poor management
    Lack of organization
Not enough team members on registers

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Target for over 5 years now. I like the employees and flexible work shifts, however, management needs to treat everyone equally. I have seen them let people leave early knowing that it is busy and we need the extra help. It is quite difficult running a store on only 3 registers at high peak customer hours. I like the work and enjoy helping customers, but sometimes it is very stressful when everything is in pure chaos.

I think they need management with more experience running a team and not choosing who they think should be able to bend the rules.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Target encourages to branch out and learn the different facets of the business. There is always room to learn new roles and take on wisdom from other teams.

    Cons

The workload can be strenuous, and there are times when you are asked to take on help for additional work centers because the payroll isn't available for them. It requires a ton of flexibility.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to move up, pay is competitive.

    Cons

Never enough payroll to go around. Too heavy of a workload.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they say they are stressed or want something to change. Otherwise you will lose them.

I worked at Target (Less than a year)

    Pros

A bit above minimum wage. My supervisor was pretty cool

    Cons

Bad hours, you can't ask for shift changes until three months in. You can't go to the bathroom or get a drink of water (20 feet away) without asking your supervisor even if no customers are in sight. I also hated making people sign up for the RedCard, I wouldn't get it.
