I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)
The pros are there are almost no dull moments as a cashier at Target. Also, they are somewhat lenient with mistakes during your first few weeks. They also pay you for orientation, which is a huge plus. Lastly, the hours are pretty flexible, depending on who makes your schedule.
Very grindy at times; a lot of weird/annoying guests who make you feel sort of crappy about yourself. Obviously a minimum wage job, so it doesn't utilize your brainpower/creativity very much.
Advice to Management
Not the right position for me, so everything's to be expected.

Had nice management at the store I was employed by.
Put me in the wrong departments.
If you are looking to work on your management or see what it is like to work in retail, then this is the place for you. They have a very structured program, week by week, to let you understand Target as a company and culture.
If retail turns out not to be the world for you, this position gets old very fast. The hours are quite crazy and grueling.
