    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

open, flexible, encourages advancement and education, may vary per store but my store was fun and energetic.

    Cons

like everywhere, there are the flakes, and those who see only black and white, do only as directed, nothing more nothing less, and see themselves above all others. they tend to weasel into management but dont seem to last long..

    Advice to Management

    keep up the good work

I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced so time went by fast. Flexible on what the colors "red" and "khaki" meant. Still not the colors I normally wear.

    Cons

Too Rigid with checking in and out. Management threatens to fire you over silly things like dropping a penny on the floor. Too Gossipy. Management egotistical and narcissistic. They play favorites ad will lie to your face. Management would break rules about holding back sale items for themselves.

    Advice to Management

Redcards are not the best item for bringing back customers, Cartwheel is. You reward people for signing up families that don't qualify for a red card or they max them out and take a credit score hit. Not everyone has credit or even a bank account. Many immigrants don't trust banks. Know your clintele. They all have smartphones and cartwheel sells more product and guarantees repeat visits.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good people at the store level

    Cons

Corporate places unrealistic expectations on you, hired managers straight from college without experience, will always support crappy "guests" before reliable team members.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere and culture with other employees. I am a people person so I enjoyed it. The breakroom had great snacks, coffee, they had Mary's Pizza and Round Table Pizza for everyone a few times, Chipotle. It was just fun. The seasonal employees got discounts immediately.

    Cons

The strict hours/break schedule. The pay obviously is not ideal but it really is not bad for a side job.

    Advice to Management

If there is a breakout seasonal employee that the customers and fellow employees love, find a spot for them somewhere.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

All the coworkers were so sweet and funny. Days go by fast because it's constantly so crazy busy. A small discount, 10% off.

    Cons

Do NOT work with your schedule at all. Currently am a student as well, and they would schedule BE during my classes and when I'd ask to change my schedule, they'd deny it every time and would tell me to look for people to cover me, like it wasn't their responsibility. I was part time for a reason?

    Advice to Management

Be more compassionate. And front end managers specifically, stop caring about red cards so much and treating us based on how many red cards we got a day. Sometimes when we don't get red cards, it's literally because no one wanted one, not because I wouldn't ask.

    Pros

10% off discount, easy uniform, some good people

    Cons

You have to use target REDcard or cash for discount, hours suck, overstaffed, not helpful management, hard to get time off for family reasons, Xmas hours suck

    Advice to Management

to make a better work enviroment
