I have been working at Target as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great co workers. Atmosphere is perfect. Fast, fun and friendly work environment. STL's (from personal experience) want to see you succeed. For obvious reasons, because if you succeed, the store will as well.

    Cons

The only real negative from work at Target is that the forecasted sales goals can be extremely aggressive. Everything is interconnected with your store comp, YTD sales, etc. but it can be extremely aggressive and overwhelming to succeed

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

wide range of tasks, fun, cool stuff to look at and shop, some of the management was nice and some of it wasnt. very easy job to work at though.

    Cons

reluctant to cross train, bad pay and raises, don't really care if they give you enough hours to work off of, management seemed to always have hidden agendas and didn't really care

    Advice to Management

give better hours to people who ask or them, like stop hiring people if you have current employees struggleing on their 15 hour/week in january, when you were just begging them to work overtime in december. Cross train people more, no one wants to be pacing back and forth waiting for customers as a casheir the whole time and not learn anything else, and when people finally get the cross training they begged for they have such a good understanding of the whole stores process and can help guests to the max.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I'm a positive person but there were no pros to this job. I was overworked and underpaid. You can not move up in this company.

    Cons

Low pay, strenuous work, short staffed, unprofessional management. They expect you to know how to do everything the first day and put 18 year olds in charge that are not mature (always on their phones or talking to other staff members) and never around when you need help.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a decent amount and do not yell at them when you give them the work of three people and they can't get it all done.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employees in their respective teams interact very well together and direct management was exceptional.

    Cons

There is often a tendency for the different teams, such as the flow team and the sales floor teams, to be very stand-off-ish with each other.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount, fellow Team Members, always something to keep you busy.

    Cons

If management is poor, then the whole job is poor. Lazy team leads who do nothing and take the credit for all of your work in front of the district managers. I have never felt valued as an employee either. A ton of meaningless recognition for doing the bare minimum of what is expected of you. Pay is still below a livable wage so there is no motivation to keep working. Terrible work life balance. You go upwards of 12 to 14 days at a time with no day off.

    Advice to Management

Do you fair share of the job and maybe the store will look better
