I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

professionalism, pride in the brand, and organization

    Cons

young (inexperienced) brand, limited variety of products (I would still have to go to Wal-mart to complete my consumer needs)

    Advice to Management

Target seems to have a high turn-over rate for employees. raises and opportunities for advancement are there, but management picks who they want to deal with.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great if you want to build a career at Target. Culture/Environment encourages networking, team building, and mentorship.

    Cons

Not my ideal picture of work life balance (especially if you have kids). Facilitates some training through "Trial By Fire" experiences which is not very effective for my particular personality type (but could be for others).

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, friendly coworkers, and good compensation for just starting out.

    Cons

unclear training guidance, unclear expectations. I was not even told on my first day of 'business school' that I needed to buy the khaki and red sweater, so I showed up and they told me after . I felt really alone and had to figure everything out myself

    Advice to Management

make sure training is followed through! The curriculum i had was very straight, but my trainer was vague, and avoiding, she didnt make it clear what i had to do, and I was left on my own .

    Negative Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    pay
    potential growth
    relocation options
there are not many pros to this company anymore, it is steadily becoming worse and treating their managers and employees with no respect

    Cons

    no work life balance
    long hours (18 hour days)
    potential growth
cutting resources/ hours, but the company expects more work to be accomplished

    Advice to Management

Promote employees off of hard work and achievements not off of race, age, or gender because you need a diverse work force. Allow your managers to have a work life balance and maybe they will work harder because they are happier and not burnt out.
