I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere. Breaks were long and generous.

    Cons

Time management was a constant issue with most of the assistant managers. I understand that some of them were training, but there were many days where the disorganization caused some employees to remain after their shifts had ended.

Sometimes there isn't always enough chance to improve upon oneself there.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendships here you make will last you a last time, hours are good, money is good when there is hours

    Cons

Always complaints of not enough work hours but finds way to hire new people and gives them the hours. Management is a bunch of recent college grads with no management experience and have no idea how to run a business or a team. Management sits in their offices all day and then expects the floor to look beautiful when they come out for 10 mins to criticize how hard your working. All management is good for is ordering food and planning what their going to do over the weekend with the other TLs and ETLs. The only career movement is if you plan on kissing major butt to move on in the scale. Can’t get benefits because they’ll make sure you don’t have enough average hours. Worked at target for 5 years and never once made it over 30 average hours despite working 35+ hours weekly

    Advice to Management

Get some experience and learn to communicate and lead a team. Don’t rely on your team members to do your job for you.

I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

The environment was accepting, you felt like you were home when you went to Target.

    Cons

Because the team leads had to meet demands, employees on the floor had to work very diligently with little time to laugh or talk. We often got in trouble for having conversations with customers for too long.

    Advice to Management

Take it easy with the demands -- we're humans, not robots.
