I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

The environment was accepting, you felt like you were home when you went to Target.

    Cons

Because the team leads had to meet demands, employees on the floor had to work very diligently with little time to laugh or talk. We often got in trouble for having conversations with customers for too long.

    Advice to Management

Take it easy with the demands -- we're humans, not robots.

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Target is a great atmosphere to work in. They really embrace diversity and incorporate into being a team. I love that about working here. They give clear goals and give you recognition once those goals have been completed.

    Cons

The higher management (at my store at least; Watertown) can be difficult. I do not have the level of trust with them that I should because confidentiality standards are not followed. The higher the leadership position, the less they seem to care.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your members and treat them with respect. You need them just as much as they need you. Try to be understanding, compassionate, and rewarding because you will have harder workers in the end. No one wants to do their best in a place that doesn't appreciate their efforts anyways.
