I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice workers. Lets you decide your schedule. Room for advancement if you work hard.

    Cons

Constant change to procedures. Leaders do not always know the best because they have not exclusively worked in that area.

    Advice to Management

Needs better system. There has to be a more organized ways to organize the stores.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Positive Environment, good training, supportive management during first few years not enough upward mobility recruited less qualified managers from outside the company and forced fellow managers to resign

    Cons

After 2 years you move up or move out. After 2 years many fellow managers were forced to resign at the top of their pay scale in order to hire less qualified applicants from outside at the bottom of pay scale in an endless cycle

    Advice to Management

    Promote from within

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

    Get three breaks
    They catered food a lot
    Co workers were nice

    Cons

    Managers
    Rude customers
Nobody around to help when needed

    Advice to Management

When a customer complains about an employee instead of taking it out on the employee and assuming you should be fair and actually talk to them and ask them about the situation. A lot of customers will exaggerate things when they don’t get there way and make you look bad.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, fun moments with guests, free food events, lots of recognition for your work, flexible hours especially if you're in college or another job

    Cons

Corrupt managers, poor leadership, lack of communication between leaders and team members, leaders like to place blame on team members for their mistakes, horrible hours, lots of favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Don't let the power go to your head. Stop blaming team members for how bad the store looks when you don't give them time to get things done, stop favoring team members over other ones, not fair especially when it comes to trying to move up the latter

I worked at Target (Less than a year)

    Pros

The bonds associates form are strong and makes working there worthwhile. 10$ and hour minimum when the minimum wage was at 9 $ an hour this is in California. It was easy to get or give up hours because of a folder in the breakroom where workers would request someone take a shift and anybody despite department could take.

    Cons

Favoritism, unrealistic credit card goals for cashiers. Inconsistent hours it could be 18 hours one week and 30 the next, but we always have to be "on call" in case some one calls out or it gets busier than expected.

    Advice to Management

Workers are more enthusiastic and willing to work when we are treated well.

    Pros

Flexible with hours. There is a schedule swap where employees can swap hours if they need time off or want to work more hours. Pretty lenient with asking for days off if done at least 2 weeks ahead of time.

    Cons

Cashiering is a boring and repetitive job to me. If you like dealing with people then this is more of a pro.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The coworkers were great. Instead of keeping to ourselves and our own work, we all literally were a team. If one was struggling, another would be there to help. The hours were completely flexible and made it easy to have a certain day off should you find someone to take your shift. LODs were kind and actually cared for their employees and made working under them fun and enjoyable.

    Cons

The only con I can think of was the fact that the pay barely increased despite how long you worked there.

    Pros

Team environment, bonus opportunites and excellant initial training for Executives.

    Cons

Not really interested in protecting assests, just selling more products. Want you to work unlimited hours, especially during holiday season.
