I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Big Company, opportunities abound. You get to learn retail business from one of the leading companies. Hard work will result in higher responsibility.

    Cons

Retail business. It is tough. Lots of long hours and holidays. Dealing with the general public can be stressful. Target is not worse than any other retailer, the retail business is just tough.

    Advice to Management

A little less adherence to rigid rules. Listen to Team leads. When you hear it is time to let someone go, you should let them go.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They can be pretty flexible with your hours if need be. Starting pay is good 10.50 per hour when I was there. its a job that keeps you pretty busy when you are there

    Cons

Hours are not set. it would be nice to work a set schedule. ETLs can sometimes be a little to demand at times. Also don't expect to get offered after the Christmas. if you get a seasonal job it is truly seasonal

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast Past, No lag time, if allowed often times stay pass you're designated shift. If you have a good team, you'll do great because teamwork is key in this job.

    Cons

More often than not, you'll won't have enough equipment to do your work; so you'll have to find a way.

    Advice to Management

Have a better way to track your time card/hours, allow access to work bench from home. Have enough computers for the mandatory training (2 for 300 employees isnt enough) and devices for your staff.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The job is easy and the people are great. I worked in Starbucks, food ave, and softlines. They also train you very well.

    Cons

They only promote people that have degrees. You can work there for years but someone coming in with an art degree that's completely irrelevant to the job is more likely to get the promotion than you.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to get hired, yearly raise, flexible hours depending on management. Only work here if you are desperate for work like I was or plan on getting hired on as a manager.

    Cons

Shady management on all levels. Late nights, they over work you for the amount you get paid. will not pay you for working others jobs. Will lie on your reviews, write ups and etc, and will take the word of management over worker any day. Does not investigate things properly unless you are Asset protection in which case always involves Targets money but does not care about its workers. Team members get bullied, sexually harassed, you name it and the proper measures are not taken.

Document everything that happens in case you will need to file a lawsuit like I and two others I know from "DIFFERENT" locations had to.

    Advice to Management

Treat others how you would like to be treated and maybe you can avoid lawsuits.

    Pros

Great vibes from coworkers, strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and retention

    Cons

Calling pharmacy technicians from pharmacy to work at the in-store Starbucks, but now CVS Pharmacy has acquired Target Pharmacy

    Advice to Management

    Manage hiring more efficiently
