I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discount
    Good first job
    Cross-training
    Getting to know the guests

    Cons

I was FORCED to train and work at Starbucks when I asked not to
Making as much as the new people that start there
Management only cares about numbers, not employees
    Organizational culture

    Advice to Management

Don't force employees to work at Starbucks in food service if they feel uncomfortable doing so.
Stop pushing your employees to the max and not rewarding them or even pretending to be grateful.
It's ridiculous that current employees had their salaries bumped up to $11/hr, which is the same pay the brand new people are getting without the years of experience!
TAKE CARE OF YOUR PEOPLE! THAT IS WHY TARGET IS UNSUSTAINABLE! THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LEADERS! That's why turnover is so high! Excellent employees with years of experience are paid the same as brand new people off the street? Get outta here! We have more self worth than that!!

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The brand is great and the improvements the company is making are very smart. Pay for leadership Ian all levels is very competitive.

    Cons

There just isn’t enough time or attention devoted to the things that matter - growing sales and developing people. Expectations are high and resources are scarce sometimes.

Former Employee - Guest Service Team Member - Cashier in Orlando, FL

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture of the company was wonderful and they take care of their employees. Very good at giving employees their breaks and they always have little things (like catered lunch or snacks in the break room) for their employees.

    Cons

The push the red card too much, to a point of almost harassment. The LODs would push way too hard and I felt uncomfortable. Not very much room for advancement or raises. The employee discount is not that big and you can not even use it unless you have the red card or cash.
