I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent wages, didn't have a problem getting hours

    Cons

Even when they approve your limited availability, they may still schedule you 35+ hours even though you have a second job that's full-time.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more attention to availability.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Good practice for pitching a product (Redcard is a thing there)
-After 2 months, it becomes easy to do
    -Co workers help

    Cons

    - Communication between departments was a problem for the store I worked at. Because of this, some shoplifters got away.
    - Going to be bothered to pitch the REDCard. Not too big of a complaint but if they find out you're not trying, they might do something about it.

    Advice to Management

    -Better incentives for Redcard goals?
    -See above

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get paid more then most retail jobs

    Cons

The management is all over the place.
    They will treat you poorly.
    They will overwork you.

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

$12/hour. 10% discount (you get the discount only if you pay cash or apply for their credit card/checking account Red Card). Free snacks in the lunch room.

    Cons

While they bumped the hourly wage to $12/hour, your hours are being cut dramatically. You'll be lucky if you get 15 hours/week. Items are too expensive for Target employees to afford, with not enough working hours. No benefits for part timers. Hard to get more hours.

    Advice to Management

Please give full time hours to your best employees. Give more hours to the employees that are available open to close, and perform a good job.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is a great first job, or even for people with experience. Pay is great and there's good communication in the team.

    Cons

Customers can be rude, but that's with any retail job. Management was very understanding about any situations that arose though!

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discount
    Good first job
    Cross-training
    Getting to know the guests

    Cons

I was FORCED to train and work at Starbucks when I asked not to
Making as much as the new people that start there
Management only cares about numbers, not employees
    Organizational culture

    Advice to Management

Don't force employees to work at Starbucks in food service if they feel uncomfortable doing so.
Stop pushing your employees to the max and not rewarding them or even pretending to be grateful.
It's ridiculous that current employees had their salaries bumped up to $11/hr, which is the same pay the brand new people are getting without the years of experience!
TAKE CARE OF YOUR PEOPLE! THAT IS WHY TARGET IS UNSUSTAINABLE! THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LEADERS! That's why turnover is so high! Excellent employees with years of experience are paid the same as brand new people off the street? Get outta here! We have more self worth than that!!
