I have been working at Target (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice employees and customers to work with

    Cons

It kinda expensive to buy things at Target, but it better than Wal-Mart

    Advice to Management

Add more product and material to all the Target stores.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They can be pretty flexible with your hours if need be. Starting pay is good 10.50 per hour when I was there. its a job that keeps you pretty busy when you are there

    Cons

Hours are not set. it would be nice to work a set schedule. ETLs can sometimes be a little to demand at times. Also don't expect to get offered after the Christmas. if you get a seasonal job it is truly seasonal

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay was great, got pretty good hours, had amazing coworkers

    Cons

Terrible with you having another job/ life outside of target, management was terrible, discount isn't anything

    Advice to Management

People get sick and have lives outside of work, understand that and we can't always drop everything to go to work

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I guess the pay is better than other retail stores. I started at $11.25/hr and I'm up to $12.50/hr in less than a year. They have given me time off when I requested it.

    Cons

A few members of the management team are extremely condescending and disrespectful when they interact with employees. They are often out of walkies and mydevices, and box cutters, which are all key tools needed to do your job.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the condescending managers or retrain them to treat all employees with respect.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Knowing about sales and clearance mark downs as soon as they happen.
The pay was above minimum wage but wasn't worth the stress.

    Cons

Poor management, scheduling nightmares, understaffed store meant work was never completed on time if done well.

    Advice to Management

Don't give stores notice of regional management visits. The stores would go through a makeover the day before a visit and the few reliable employees would be scheduled for long shifts to account for visits.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Coworkers are mostly friendly and helpful
    - Good pay (kind of)
    - 10% discount on all target products + 5% if you have the red card

    Cons

    - Heavy workload
    - Micromanagement
    - Simple job but physically demanding, doesn't require a lot of creativity or strategic thinking
    - Not a lot of room to grow

    Advice to Management

Schedule more team members to work on the sales floor especially during weekends/holidays.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have learned a lot from this company when I returned to Retail after several interesting jobs. They're facing new challenges due to how Consumers Shop and Order Merchandise. I've been lucky to meet some really great People on both Professional Levels and Personal Levels. 'It's about adaptability and flexibility.

    Cons

Businesses are changing to meet the needs of the Consumers and the Challenges of Their Competition. It's about staying viable well into the Future. We, as Individuals have to adapt as well as learn newer skills so we can also work well into our own futures! It's not easy to think about another job, but this is the Reality of this Employment Journey.

    Advice to Management

Stay positive when directing your workers as this will actually inspire most to see they are valued and encouraged to do their best.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Ten percent employee discount for everything but alcohol.

    Cons

Poor training, company emphasis on earnings so hours are cut with the contradictory mantra of "fast fun friendly."

    Advice to Management

Employees need more training with less emphasis on corporate earnings.
