I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits , meeting new people, replace uniform if damaged at work, feed us on breaks sometimes

    Cons

No hours, at least 3 redcards a week, go on late breaks, bathroom are filthy, guess think you are suppose to help them on breaks and when you're off the clock and ready to go home

    Advice to Management

To be more real and caring towards your workers. Treat your employees just like guess when we theyre shopping. Give more hours and set days.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Vacation time and rotating weekends so not typical retail hours and only 1-2 closing shifts per week so thats a plus.

    Cons

50 hour work weeks and worse during holiday time and sometimes the store culture can really impact your work ethic

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    The pay is very good

    Cons

The bad things about Target is that they are not fair with all of the employees. If you are a team lead you get paid for all holidays but if you are a regular employee you don't. No company should separate their employees like that because it's like you don't feel the other' are worthy. Another problem is that they don't promote fro within but when they bring the new team leads or LODS they want others to train them. I have been working for Target for 8.5 yrs. and have been over looked but always asked to train others and I say no because if you think they deserve it and they have a degree they should know what they are doing but they don't.

    Advice to Management

Look within your stores and talk to the Managers to see individuals that can be promoted from within. Also treat all the employees the same we are supposed to be a FFF store that is not true by far.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team member discount (10%), environment, nice selection of clothing

    Cons

Raises are very small, excessive push for redcards to customers!! Can't get very annoying because they are always bothering u about it if your a cashier. That's all they care bout pretty much. U can get promoted soley off that. Needs to focus more on customer service then target cards

    Advice to Management

Ever since the whole incident wih target happened. U can't expect to keep doing the same numbers in redcards. So stop pushing employees and just encourage them to focus mainly on customer satisfaction

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Getting paid, employee discount, and the customers who appreciated you helping them out

    Cons

Far distance from home and the working conditions were ridiculous they scheduled me a certain time but always made me work way over that time.

    Advice to Management

Stick to your schedule if someone is working close do not make them stay 2 hours after their shift fixing up shelves when the stockers are about to fill them anyways.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fun and friendly environment
Better pay than some other retail companies
    GREAT for college students

    Cons

hard to move ahead in the company
    always understaffed on purpose
    low security
the 10% discount is a bit too cheap for such a huge company
You never know how your hours will look the next week
    hard to become full time

    Advice to Management

Stop nagging about the overtime, do not set tasks that are impossible to finish within a work shift and have security walk closers to their cars. After 11pm it gets dangerous out there

    Advice to Management

my only advice to leadership is to up the pay especially the cashiers because they work really really hard doing their job
