I have been working at Target full-time

    Pros

    - Team Development
    - Business ownership focus
    - Great culture
    - Great guest perception
    - Strong financial foundation which allows for growth
    - Growing online presence

    Cons

Work/life balance can be a challenge; changing nature of retail landscape can make the workplace frenzied at times but ultimately very manageable with good planning.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on the team's work/life balance; efficiencies and priorities.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you have a good work ethic, you will have great job security. They like warm bodies, especially ones that actually work.

    Cons

Not much room to expand beyond your position or to get into management. Not sure I would want to seeing how much stress they deal with on a daily basis. Also, most training is a total joke.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your minions, some of them have some good ideas.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, accommodating HR, fast pace

    Cons

Poor pay, no room for growth: this is a company that plays the popularity game

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring first time college grads with no work experience, they usually leave within a year and creates an unstable work environment

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You meet some great coworkers
Interactions with guests can be rewording
    Discount is okay
    Offer sick pay

    Cons

    Too many changes
Being told multiple things from different people on correct ways to handle situations
Upper management doesn't really care (fake nice)
Communication isn't very good between departments
Hours are all over the place unless you demand a set schedule, but even then you could have issues with the HR department because they want you to be available on certain days (like weekends)
Really hard to work around a schedule with the HR department if you have a second job
When the higher up executives visit the store, sales associates are encourages to keep the peace and not go in fully or let them know how terrible the new changes are working etc.
    Low pay
No benefits unless they give you full 40 hours a week, which they will do everything they can to not give you, like scheduling you 39.5 hours a week unless you're higher up.
Expectations are extremely high for a low paying retail position

    Advice to Management

Just don't listen to people's complaints, do something about it.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Leaders are very positive and cheerful.
    Cheerful workplace.
Team Members can easily befriend others
    Very good flexibility hours
     Open minded

    Cons

Little chance to improve skills and change to other work areas within the store.
Some GSTL and ETL feel empowered they sometimes misuse their authority.
Because of their authority they seem above those who are below their tittle and subconsciously belittle other team members

    Advice to Management

Remind ETLs and GSTL to be inclusive and not to belittle others regardless of their title.

    Pros

The team can be the best part of Target, depending on the store you work at.

    Cons

Leaders who think they are God and other leaders who don't seem to care.

    Advice to Management

Support your teams. Don't let them struggle and flounder, then punish them when you could have easily helped.
