I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly staff and Team Leaders, Fast paced environment, Flexible hours.

    Cons

During slow times of the year (Non-holiday times) hours can be cut. Short amount of time, especially during night shifts, to get everything done with an overwhelming amount to finish.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Positive atmosphere. Quick development, if you're willing to work hard. Easy to get time off. Fast paced workdays.

    Cons

Working most holidays. Development stops at a certain level. On your feet all day. The usual stresses that come with a job in retail.

    Advice to Management

Stop bringing on college students as ETLs. Utilize the talent and experience that is already in your store. If you have leadership looking to promote, give them tasks or projects to prove themselves. Push them to develop. But making them feel stuck in their position while they watch kids take the jobs they want, your likely to lose those people with the experience, knowledge, and talent.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment. The team looks out for one another. Scheduling were flexible to student workers most of the time. There are some room to increase positions based on availability and work ethic.

    Cons

The assistant manager that was in charge during the time was not willing to work with my school schedule for important events. Picking up slack from other employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep to the scheduled agreed between a student worker and the managers in mind before assigning shifts that will compromise the student workers school schedule and have to choose between going to school or getting written up for not showing up to work. Take into account for the sake of both the store needs and the student workers.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with a great team, 21st century company with a modern vision, working for the best company in retail, diverse team.

    Cons

I was a team lead, and there was much room for advancement to the ETL level when they're constantly bringing in fresh ETL's that graduated college. The benefits are lousy to for hourly employees.

    Advice to Management

Look to what Walmart and Amazon are doing instead of constantly hiring ETL's fresh from school, get people that work for your stores in the positions!

I have been working at Target part-time

    Pros

Depending on how many redcards you get, they give you some rewards like a giftcard, free movie, food. Easy people to get along with. Just scan things and make sure prices align. Not too bad.

    Cons

They put pressure on employees to get guests to sign up for redcards.

I worked at Target as an intern

    Pros

    - Great training structure
    - Gives a lot of leadership experience to interns
    - Constant feedback and advice from mentors, peers, and managers
    - Upper management receptive to input from all levels of organization

    Cons

    - Distribution center schedules can be rough to adjust to
    - Was less technical of a role than I anticipated
-Frustrated by the company not reinvesting in the business, massive improvements could be made if a little more money was put into upgrading old systems

    Advice to Management

    - Fully commit to continuous improvement culture and hire staff with more of a technical background to help facilitate this.
