I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I really don't have an pro's for you. I wasted years here and never gotten the Opportunity to go up the career ladder. All the folks that hooked up with a manager only got a position.

    Cons

Sexual harassment is very bad and if you report it you'll be treated badly by management.

    Advice to Management

We are the folks that make sure the merchandise is on the shelf and ready for the customer to buy. Start treating the flow team like everyone else.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice co-workers. If you want to buy food for your break or lunch, you can.

    Cons

Management always harping down your back telling you to hurry up and get more things done faster.
If you have a five hour shift, you have to take a 45 min lunch.
They kept telling me to not take my 15 min breaks. I didn't even know I got 2 breaks until my last day.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The managers are very cool and they are great people as well. I really like them in general. Your co-workers are also awesome people. Moreover, they are very cool too. The 10% employee discount is very nice. It really adds up.

    Cons

The pay is extremely low especially considering how much work is expected of you. Target pays more than the minimum but they really squeeze every penny they can out of you. You have to work so hard there that it is downright uncomfortable. Turnover is ridiculous there. You are constantly seeing new faces which is not nice either. The managers leave constantly as well which is extremely disconcerting.

    Advice to Management

The working conditions need to be made more humane. Target and I know retail in general is really being hurt by the horrendous levels of turnover that are occurring. In short, you can not expect the work to be done the way it needs to be done and the way management wants it to be done with the current levels of staffing. Target needs to hire more employees, offer the employees that they do have more hours and Target needs to treat its employees better. I really think the company would benefit from having a full-time workforce. I know that a full-time workforce is very expensive but I think Target could successfully pass along the costs to its guests. I say the because if the store was effectively staffed the shopping experience that could offered would be such that Target would have enough guests and the guests' basket sizes would be large enough to effectively support a full-time staff as well as the profit margins that the shareholders are looking for. I also know that their has been a tremendous business style drift at Target. The store used to offer mid-level brands at affordable prices. While Target was doing the aforementioned, Target was doing much better. Since, Target drifted from that business strategy, the company has not been doing well. Target's primary business strategy is now trying to compete directly with Walmart and Amazon on the basis of price which is not a good idea.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team member effort to complete multiple projects.

Very poor team lead support and management especially for closing team members.

    Pros

Friendly, helpful coworkers. Team members are always willing to help.

    Cons

The managers don't communicate. I was told to do one thing by one manager, and then got into trouble by another manager for doing it. You can never do anything right.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating team members like slaves. We're still people. And please for the love of God communicate.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nothing much to be honest most managers stop caring after a couple of months into the job it's really sad they're going to go downhill.

    Cons

The company has a lot of stress on good workers and let bad workers keep slaking off because it's hard to fire people from target after there 3 months because they're contract workers

    Advice to Management

    Try caring
