I worked at Target part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

They are very team oriented. The people are great to work with. I learned so much over my time span at Target. They are very flexible and will work with you while you are in school. I loved everything about my store.

    Cons

Not enough hours, Hr was not very helpful, some team members never did their jobs so it fell back on others

    Advice to Management

Make sure to give more hours to the people that do everything they can for the job. Also, HR needs to communicate better with ETLs. The HR should not lie to employees.

I worked at Target full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    Salary and benefits are OK.

    Cons

90 % of management is straight out of college and most are under thirty. Target churns through them very quickly. In less than three years I had four different bosses. Eight different people came and went from the ETL team at my store during that time, as well. I was an "outside hire" meaning not straight out of college, so they expected me to fail. I had a SPHR certification, but was told after my hire that it was...

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very team oriented and the people who work there are amazing

    Cons

You can only use your employee discount (it's only 10%) if you pay with cash or the Target Red card. They don't offer full time hours, and your schedule will be unpredictable

    Advice to Management

Staff accordingly. Our location is always short staffed in soft lines, hard lines and cashiers.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

I worked at Target for a seasonal position from 2012-2013. It was a fairly easy job. I was a cashier and the pay was decent. I remember getting paid a $1 more for working on the holidays e.i thanksgiving. I am not sure if they still do that anymore.

    Cons

They didn't keep many people over from seasonal. I believe maybe like 3 and it was 25 people hired for like seasonal. However, that is the risk for seasonal jobs, its always a 50/50 chance

    Advice to Management

I feel like at my location it was a lot of favoritism and gossiping. That wasn't cool. I hope people matured since then.

I worked at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I was given plenty of hours and the work environment was pleasant. Coworkers were knowledgeable and willing to give a helping hand when necessary.

    Cons

The job description given in the advertisement did not match the actual duties I was eventually given. Wages were low and I could not maintain a proper living.

    Advice to Management

Give prospective employees proper job descriptions
