I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nothing except stress depression and anxiety disorder

    Cons

Inconsistent hours, too much work in unrealistic time , corporate is clueless, favoritism, they never donate food that could go to food lockers instead they throw it away to save time.

    Advice to Management

Clueless incompetent people who are recruited out of college. They might have a degree but they sure dont have a reality to working in the actual stores.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

3 day work week and vacation.

    Cons

Poor training, employees or Team Members have total control over the work schedules and it’s mob rule. SOM’s Senior Management is rarely engaged and takes Employees word over managers.

    Advice to Management

Clear expectations need to be shared with all TM’s and the same message is not shared on all keys or schedules. Managers need to be empowered to make changes. There is so much turnover. There was a big “purge” a few years back that fired many of the managers. Most Managers are 1-3 years on position.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You were only expected to work in your area, not hop around.

    Cons

Inflexible with request for time off or approval to switch shifts. Constantly being told to sell the target red card.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Mostly friendly co-workers
    Employee discount
    Store cleanliness

    Cons

Lots of turn-over both management & team members. Management favoritism pretty evident to everyone.
If you’re “in” with the right people you may get promoted.
    Lack of communication/training

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look & be honest about who you’re promoting.

    Cons

    Bad management
    Pressure on getting redcards
    Ignore most time off requests
    Refusal to crosstrain

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most people who I work with are very friendly.

    Cons

They pay is not competitive or sustainable and GSA's (managers) are paid only a dollar or so more than a cashier yet are managers. They will put you in departments you are not trained for so you either call out or can get a coaching for not doing everything properly. Random hour cuts if you don't meet red card goal (Cashier and GSA's only)

    Advice to Management

At the very least pay your managers a livable wage. When a store gets constant complaints called to corporate, do an actual surprise visit, don't tell the STL so they can prep the store in advance.
