I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They let you set your schedule and you always have the opportunity to pick up shifts.

    Cons

They expect you to go above and beyond your job description, while only paying you minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

When you have stockers unloading the truck for the night, they should be offered an additional break or a little bit more pay.

    Pros

It was fun working at Target, I enjoyed the team motivation from all of my co workers

    Cons

sometimes there weren't enough hours to go around, I'd get stuck with only 10 hours per week sometimes

    Advice to Management

Be more aware of when co workers are having issues with each other, they need a mediator

I worked at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fast pace work. Good only for part time and not for a living wage. Employee discounts.

    Cons

Part time benefits cut. Low pay for high expectations. Minimal wage increases. Not many ops to move up.

    Advice to Management

Actually treat workers like human beings. Be a leader not a manager. Don't start being like walmart..

I have been working at Target (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture is amazing in the numerous stores that I have worked in. Everyone is given the opportunity to learn more and promote if that's what they want. I've have numerous opportunities to try new things.

    Cons

For target a degree is required for most positions in management and at the corporate level. I think experience should be considered when applying for jobs but it's pushing me to finally finish my degree.
