I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -The pay is decent.
-The work was quite straightforward - just putting stuff on shelves, for the most part.
-Some of my co-workers were cool people, I liked that they have a big diversity push.

    Cons

    - Management was infuriating to deal with. I was "asked" to stay past 6 hours often, and when I'd turn them down (Vacations, plans, appointments, ect.) they would frequently get hostile and threaten to fire me. Once I told them I was leaving in two weeks, I was treated terribly, to the point that I decided the full two weeks wasn't worth the treatment.
    - Hours. I was part time, yet expected to work 6 hours a day, occasionally 6 days a week. 36 hours is not part time, but if they pretend you work part time, they don't have to give you benefits. When I interviewed, I was told the days were four to eight thirty, or nine at the latest. I was there until one in the afternoon, once, and staying past ten was common.
    - Several of my co-workers were aggressive, and management did little about it. One of my co-workers was constantly insulting other people. Another one was lazy, constantly made mistakes, and would lose his temper constantly. They were also very transphobic, and when that was complained about, he was told he couldn't talk about that when the store was open. What about his co-workers? I guess we didn't matter.
    - The work is backbreaking, and you are expected to work as hard as possible for the 5/6+ hours you are there.

    Advice to Management

    - Treat your employees like human beings, not like "labor". Respect that people schedule their lives around a schedule, and if it's not consistent, people will have other plans. On the other side, if someone's being hostile in the workplace, it doesn't matter how much you need employees, it's going to drive people away to keep them working there.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

    Good pay, Discount at Starbucks

    Cons

Associates will rat you out for complaining about unfair supervisors, company is too sensitive overall, discounts are minimal and don't really add up.

    Advice to Management

If someone has good performance for the three months they're working, and then just two bad days, it's not worth firing over. Pick your battles.
