I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you work with are pretty great and the early morning hours are nice since you work four hours and are off before noon. You have the rest of your day for you whatever.

    Cons

The pay isn't that great for the work that's required and management puts a lot of pressure on the team to get the trucks done by the end of their shifts, even is the team is incredibly short handed.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more and actually try to fix some of the problems they're bringing up instead of ignoring them.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people, at least my coworkers are wonderful people and they work very well with school schedules. The management cares as much as most detached corporate entities can, but they are fair and for the most part take care of their own. Hours and pay are decent.

    Cons

Retail. Sometimes the guests are rude, and crazy, but such are the hazards of working in this particular field. Management changes way too often, and it can be hard to feel loyal and satisfied with your work when the higher ups are always trying to climb the corporate ladder by unnecessarily changing systems and procedures that cause no malfunction until altered.
Care most about their red card numbers, and can be threatening to cashiers and cause excessive pressure, leading to a high turn over rate.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people, are not just faceless numb bodies.

    Pros

Everyone helped each other during the holiday season 2014-2015 while I was there

    Cons

The shoppers can be heavy at the checkout lanes the closer to each holiday day, but that is normal and to be expected.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The salary is good and you won't be in an office sitting down all day. Starbucks is usually onsite...you can shop right after work.

    Cons

Management STL micro-manages executive leaders and some STLs can be borderline disrespectful. Although they say "work/life balance", it's completely opposite. They expect you to work 10+ hours per day. You will work every weekend from November-January. If you have kids, I don't recommend this position because you have no flexibility, Target comes first always.

    Advice to Management

Treat your management team like you actually do care about them and trust/empower your management team instead of micro-managing them
