I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are great, they're supposed to be flexible with your availability so going to school and working here is nice.

    Cons

Its retail, you will always have a difficult guest every once in a while that will ruin your day. The managers run the break and lunch schedules for all cashiers. Sometimes you wont get your break until 3 hours into your shift which is horrible considering that you're standing in one spot the entire time. We're almost always understaffed. I do also feel as though I spend too much of my life at target. Work, Sleep, then back to work.

    Advice to Management

    Schedule more people per day.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great employee discount and savings when sales and promotions were active.

    Cons

The particular store I worked for had little to no training and you were expected to figure out things on your own.

    Advice to Management

Be more thorough in training staff and explaining policies.

I have been working at Target (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun and friendly co-workers, meet a lot of people

    Cons

Management wants you to do everything which is next to impossible

    Advice to Management

When cutting off hours and there’s no enough people don’t expect that everything will be done in a timely manner

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Meet nice people. Gain customer service skills.

    Cons

    Discount is only 10%!!!!
Very segmented level wise. Team leads and ETLs don't mingle well with part time employees. They constantly ask what you're doing and question you.
They play favoritism big time! I was there three years and newcomers were promoted faster than I was, even though I was far more qualified. Also, If you are doing well in one position in the store, they won't move you because they don't want to lose your experience.

    Pros

Very friendly environment. Best place to work in retail for sure! Very taken care of. Has always a very great vibe

    Cons

Basics pay, not really much to complain about. You are there to work. Staff cares about wants and needs and never had a bad experience

    Advice to Management

Poway target has a great management staff
