I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job itself usually is not extremely hard. You won't be too tired out at the end of shifts. The tasks you're given are relatively consistent, and if you've done retail before, it's your standard retail job.

    Cons

They barely train you at all, and they don't train well. If you're a seasonal, they won't even inform you if or when you're being let go. Management can be slow to assist staff, even when there are serious customer complaints. Management likes to cut shifts a lot so you may not get the kind of hours you want. There's obvious favoritism at this job too, given that a lot of people they keep past seasonal are not necessarily the most active workers. They might give you an opening shift right after a closing shift. Some days they'll unexpectedly shift you to a different department without warning or training.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional and interactive with your staff, and train new team members longer.
