I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You meet great people in your department and sometimes other departments. They have average benefits. You can also get a hand at learning multiple departments within one whole department. You are required to learn Cashier stuff.

    Cons

Thee management was messy at times. They over work you and expect you to finish with unrealistic times and goals. They give you unrealistic goals for the most part. They’re always under staffed. They cut hours a lot. The Backroom can get really messy. The people in this location love to gossip. They are currently having a vermin problem and I suggest if you work backroom to wear gloves. They schedule you weird hours and sometimes are not flexible.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good co-workers, lots of hours if you are willing to work hard, IF you can move to or get hired into the "specialty positions" you get paid more for doing less work

    Cons

All of the managers will lie to and manipulate the team members to make them work harder, they burn out and get rid of top performers, yearly corporate minimum wage increases get rid of the yearly raise the team members receive.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage properly and don't spend all your time at the starbucks or in your offices

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Store discount
    - Cross-trained in cashiering

    Cons

    - Devices necessary for work constantly weren't working, or there weren't enough of them.
    - Lower level managers could have been friendlier.
    - Felt unimportant and like work wasn't valued... This is what you sign up for when you work for such a large corporation at the bottom of the heap.
    - Irregular hours if you're new.
    - HR was not helpful. Also, there were constantly new HR employees in the office who weren't knowledgeable.
    - Culture: very cliquey. People wouldn't talk to people other than their 1-3 friends in the break room.

Overall, things seemed to slip through the cracks and there was the overwhelming sense that "it was someone else's job", but no one knew who. I'm sure it's slightly better to work at Target during the day, but the overnight jobs are an interesting experience.
