I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I love my co workers.
I even like some of my customers
    Free food in break room

    Cons

Not enough people scheduled for closing. We always have one cashier (usually me ) scheduled. This is because they keep hiring minors. Minors can't ring up alcohol and can only work until 9:30pm. Why do they make them cashiers??

    Advice to Management

Cashiers are treated as the lowest on the totem pole. We only get recognition for red cards. We don't even get to participate in the team huddle. Every day it's "Get more red cards." No recognition for excellent guest service or maintaining good attitudes despite the fact that we're doing the job of two people (checker and bagger) and the counters are not designed for bagging! And what is the deal with the flashing light thing? We need an intercom!

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As far as management goes people are intelligent and everyone is willing to work hard. Most of them are kind, as well.

    Cons

The ETL position takes over your entire life. Some people love that, which is great... I'm not.one of those people. There is really no chance for true work-life balance as upper management at Target.

    Advice to Management

District Team Leaders and higher, please ask your ETLS how many hours they actually work and if we can think of ways to make our lives healthier. 80 hours some weeks is not an exageration and your high turnover rates reflect that this is not healthy for us.

    Thank you.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is flexible and depending on your team leader, can work with you on schedule.
    Easy to learn work
If you're a student who does not need much hours, it is great

    Cons

    Not enough equipment
    Not enough hours
    Pay raise is low
Less hours during parts of the year

    Advice to Management

Provide equipment if you want your team to actually work

I have been working at Target part-time

    Pros

I got a call back less than 24 hours after I interviewed, my hourly wage is pretty good, which is more likely due to the city I'm working in though rather than Target itself. Working at Target is good experience to put on resumes for when you want to get another job.

    Cons

The interview process was so disorganized first they made me wait for over 30 mins and the first time I went in they made me reschedule because they were "too busy" to interview me. They also forgot to give me half the paperwork when finally interviewed me and offered me a job on the spot so I had to go back in again. They make you feel bad when you call in sick and try to argue that you could "just take medicine", and if your can't work all weekend long forget about them even wanting you to work there anymore. Also you need to get a certain amount of new REDcard customers per shift, which is you convincing people to sign up for there debit or credit card (that doesn't even have that great of benefits) which is hard because nobody wants a REDcard and they keep bothering you about it until you get more and more.

    Advice to Management

Management should be more understanding to their employees.

    Pros

    Advice to Management

stop being so lazy, and stop playing favorites

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I think if you start with Target to get experience, it's not a bad company. You're eligible for yearly raises, full-time benefits after a year, 401k, team member discounts, etc.

    Cons

I was spread thin. In order to keep hours, I would work six days a week and cross train in every department I could. If you weren't flexible, they wouldn't give you hours.
