I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people in this company seem to be nice people, and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Everything is fake. You know the whole perception is everything, you literally have to fake it till you make it.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should also practice accountability and listening. You're not always right.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation is great and the company offers a real career path to grow with.

    Cons

Work life balance is hard to come by and the hours get difficult

    Advice to Management

Retention is an opportunity at all levels. Something needs to give. Improve compensation or get better at hiring more serious applicants. External hires tend to be less engaged than internal promotions.

I worked at Target (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked in electronics and they give you a lot of freedom to take care of the department. Management gives tasks and checks in, and generally lets you go at your own pace. Nice fun environment. We often had free food in the break room.

    Cons

Even though I was paid more to be in electronics they would still schedule a good amount of days on register - which is a much more boring job, and you don't get a say. Not a bad experience, but it is much less fun than working on the floor.

    Advice to Management

My managers were outstanding. I hope they're the same way at other stores.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I love my co workers.
I even like some of my customers
    Free food in break room

    Cons

Not enough people scheduled for closing. We always have one cashier (usually me ) scheduled. This is because they keep hiring minors. Minors can't ring up alcohol and can only work until 9:30pm. Why do they make them cashiers??

    Advice to Management

Cashiers are treated as the lowest on the totem pole. We only get recognition for red cards. We don't even get to participate in the team huddle. Every day it's "Get more red cards." No recognition for excellent guest service or maintaining good attitudes despite the fact that we're doing the job of two people (checker and bagger) and the counters are not designed for bagging! And what is the deal with the flashing light thing? We need an intercom!

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As far as management goes people are intelligent and everyone is willing to work hard. Most of them are kind, as well.

    Cons

The ETL position takes over your entire life. Some people love that, which is great... I'm not.one of those people. There is really no chance for true work-life balance as upper management at Target.

    Advice to Management

District Team Leaders and higher, please ask your ETLS how many hours they actually work and if we can think of ways to make our lives healthier. 80 hours some weeks is not an exageration and your high turnover rates reflect that this is not healthy for us.

    Thank you.
